American Standard CADET BATHTUB 5' x 36" 2771002.178 Logo
Posted on Aug 06, 2010

I purchased an American Standard Cadet Spa 5 at Home Depôt and had a plumber intall it. The problem is that the back jets shoot water all over the bathroom. The speck sheet on American Standard web site (canada) states that the back jets are adjustable, but even when they are turned off the water still sprays all over the bathroom. Is this problem fixableÉÉ

The water in the tub needs to be higher than the jets!

SOURCE: I have an american standard

Check the air vacuum switch and line as you may have a air vacuum leak. The button that controls the on and off to the jets is an air vacuum switch....It may have a slow air leak in the line or connections that is activating the on and off control

SOURCE: We have purchased a whirlpool tub model #

Some jets you can stick your finger into the jet its self and move it in 360 degrees. Others have a notched round trim piece that when turned counter clockwise, will loosen the jet where you can manipulate it as described above. You will need to retighten it after your done so it doesn't end up the same way. If you have trouble, you may want to use a little spray lubricant on it so it will loosen.

My American Standard spa tub Williamsburg Elite Model 2425E has a couple of the eight jets failing to jet, the two on either side of the rear left corner.

sounds like maybe the jet faces are turned off. see if they turn one way or the other and they may open and spew water out for you.

I just installed an american standard cadet 3.Home depot rated this toilet as a 10 for flush power. when I flush 1st off the flapper wont stay up on it own long enough to flush,2nd if I hold it open it is...

We have just recently purchased one of the American standard cadet at home depot from a discount flyer and had it for about a day and took it back.

Like you said, Did not notice Any thing like a strong flush.

RECOMENDATION:

Take it back.

Home Depot also sells a Kohler Toilet 1.6 Gallon Flush Install
This is all it said it was. It saves water for sure and has a quick flush.

We liked it so much we purchased two of them because everyone in the house only wanted to using our bathroom.

Hope this tip helps.

Toilet problem! When it flushes the water rises way above normal before it empties. It does seem to flow out normally. It fills up to normal height but after awhile the water level is way down below...

Add toilet shower and sink in attic space-to 4 inch vent passing through attic with minimal replunbing

Using a vent as a drain is not a good idea. The vent prevents backing up due to air pockets in theat section of drainpipe and obnoxios fumes will escape through the shower frain vithe possibility of creating an undesireable odor throughout the home.. Consult with a plumber befor using a vent as a drain, Ther e may be a building code issue. Good Luck, I understand your idea, but, I recommend specialized advice. Good Luc

I have to replace one of the return water jets. There is a purple glue connecting the 3 hoses to the retrn jet. How are these hoses removed from the cracked jet?

it is not....you will have to cut it...that means you will have to get some hose to add in and a coupler to connect the 2 cut ends back together. There is a glue made by Oatey...called rain-n-shine, that will glue the hose to the pvc.

This type of flush system can be re presurised quickly by holding down the flush handle for about good 2 minutes, then release , wait for the tank to be refilled with water.
Now you can flush away your inner rotting mess down tube good-by...

American standard cadet 3 leaking around seal

get a new filler assembly. the water in the tank is heavy enough to close the seal completely. or the rubber seal is not making contact. thats' why the leak.
change the whole assemble ususally correct the problem.
adjuste the flow to about 1/4 to 1/3 under the over flow. if that still don't give you the pressure. you ca adjust the flow tube to 1/5 under the cover. that is the max.

Toilet tank is refilling slowly.

Hi AaronYC,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumbe.

Your problem is: Installed a new American Standard Cadet 3 toilet bowl and tank at home. When you turn the water supply on, the tank refills normally and stops normally. After you flush, the refill is very slow. When it refills normally the water comes out from the bottom of the pipe (i.e. the pipe that houses the float cup) and when it is refilling slowly, it comes from the top of the pipe. Sometimes (but not always), you can shut the water supply off and when you turn it back on, the flow of water goes from slow to fast instantly - but you haven't been able to recreate this consistently.

These are the facts. American Standard has been keeping costs down by out sourceing. Their toilets are now built in third world countries and parts are made cheap. They're all doing it. Quality control is pretty good but your toilet came with a bad "ballcock". That's the refill part on the left. Because it's new, if you take the ball **** back to place of purchase they should give you new. If not, they cost less than $ 10.00 and easy to replace.
