They have a built in trickle that shuts down after the battery is fully charged, you can leave it forever if you want. We leave ours plugged in overnight. I have one that is always on with a battery in it. Hope this helps.

Guru is right about the trickle charge but remember, Ryobi batteries, while very good, hate cold weather. They will not charge at all if the battery is below 32 degrees so the trickle charge with slightly discharges and recharges full batteries will not complete the recharge cycle, eventually causing dead batteries. Keep batteries in the house in the winter. The fast charge works great and youll be ready in a flash.

Ryobi NiCads loose 1% per day after 3 months the cells / battery is dead. NiCad charged sub C cell is 1.2v and should not be discharged bellow 1v. So .2v / .01 is 20 days.
To prevent NiCad memory every 20 days you should recharge your Ryobi battery.
Ryobi Li Ion Zero memory Zero charge loss. So fully charge a Ryobi Li Ion battery and remove it from the charger.

SOURCE: Can I leave my Ryobi P113 charger with a P103

Yes you can that is an automatic charger when it is fully charged it shuts down the charging portion but keeps the charged light lit however this does not effect the battery.

SOURCE: Does it harm a Ryobi 18v lithium battery to leave on Charger?

Lithium-Ion batteries require careful charging and temperature monitoring while in the charger. Ryobi's Charging station monitors many functions and shuts off when the battery has gone through a complete charge. This is indicated by a steady Green light. Once the Charge indicator is a steady green the charger stops charging. With any battery It will slowly discharge and I don’t think the Ryobi will maintain a battery that is never removed. For example, if after a complete charge cycle if the battery was left there for 2 years and then you went to use it, it would likely be completely discharged. However if the battery charger is unplugged then plugged back in a new charge sequence would start. I lose power at my house about every 6 months or so. Once power is restored a new cycle would start and the charging cycle begins again.
Hope this helps and have a great day.

I bought a Ryobi 12V drill w/ lithium charger. Green light on charger never went solid....continues to blink & fade. Does this mean its in the energy saving mode? Is it fully charged?

How long have you left battery on charger? It will take about 3 1/2 hrs to fully charge. t is probably not a good idea to leave the battery in the charger for long periods of time though, so once it is fully charged put it back in the drill. When fully charged the green led will turn solid. This link will have more info on charger and battery.

I have a 12 volt Ryobi battery charger number 14050 3001 that the red light is not coming on is this indicating that the charger is no good? yellow light flashes red light never comes on

If it is charging the battery properly I would not worry about it. Just do not leave it connected all the time. Charge the battery and disconnect.

We have a Ryobi Battery Charger 6Port Multi BCS618. It will only charge one battery at a time and not all simutaneously as we assumed. Is this normal? Thanks Graeme

I don't remember if the order is determined by when the battery is inserted or which port is used but yes, the charger will only charge the batteies one at a time. Also if you leave batteries in the charger for more than one month the charger will refresh them.

I just bought a combo 18V Ryobi blower P2102 and trimmer P2002 which also came with a charger P113 and Ryobi lithium battery. I charged the 18V lithium P104 battery 48WH till light turned solid green on...

The battery will power your equipment for 30 to 45 minutes, that is normal. What you're thinking of is the lifespan of a lithium battery. It with your battery will last 10 times longer than a regular NiCad battery. So you will be able to charge the battery and use it Hundreds of times before the Battery Life is depleted. Sounds like it's working as designed
