Critical error is showing at startup

If your F35-WQXGA Barco projector is displaying a critical error at startup, it could be due to a variety of reasons. Here are some potential causes and solutions:
  1. Lamp Failure: The projector lamp may have reached the end of its lifespan, or it may have malfunctioned. Check the projector's lamp indicator to see if the lamp needs to be replaced. If it does, replace the lamp with a new one.
  2. Power Supply Issue: Check the power supply to ensure that it is functioning properly. Make sure that the projector is receiving the correct voltage and that all cables are securely connected.
  3. Overheating: The projector may be overheating due to a blocked air vent or dirty air filter. Check the air filter and clean or replace it as necessary. Ensure that the projector has proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
  4. Software Issue: Check for any software updates or patches that may be available for your projector model. Download and install any updates as necessary to resolve any software-related issues.
  5. Hardware Issue: If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician to diagnose and repair any hardware issues.
It is recommended to refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for specific troubleshooting steps and solutions for your model of projector.

Can you replace the Bulb only instead of buying the whole unit, if so where do i get one from? many thanks

I don't believe that you can purchase this lamp as a bare bulb through official channels. It is an expensive lamp + projector and buying cheap copies is likely to be a risky business, definitely not supported by Barco. Prices seem to start at around £3500 GBP (ex VAT) or $5500 USD (ex TAX)

If you are in the UK, here are the 1st two suppliers I found

http://www.london-projectors.co.uk/projector-lamps.php?&brand=BARCO&model=SLM+G5+EXEC

http://www.jp-uk.co.uk/projector-lamps/barco/slm-g5-perf/barco-r9840740-projector-lamp.html

If you are in the US, again here are the 1st two.

http://www.amatteroffax.com/itempagey_invid_1366421801_d_premier-barco-oem-r98-40740-projector-lamp.html

http://www.advancedlamps.com/Barco-Genuine-OEM-R98-40740-Projector-Lamp?m1track=nextag&utm_source=nextag&utm_medium=cse&utm_campaign=export_feed&osCsid=bceddfd8470265866c6c1dd7172b765e#nextag

Given the fact that it is such an expensive lamp you should be able to negotiate a competitive price. I'd get on the phone to any potential supplier and ask them for their very best price rather than buying off the net.

Replaced lamp, reset LCD - still displaying replace lamp

You must normally use the remote control to reset the lamp time. If you do that through the menu options and reset lamp hours, it should be OK.

Panasonic PT-L557U Bulb Life

lamp hours can only be displayed by connecting two test points in side the projector. in normal operation, a message will be displayed on the screen when the lamp hours = 1090. when the lamp reaches 1100 hours, the projector will shut itself off. when you do replace the lamp, be sure to reset the lamp time in the setup menu (this is covered in your manual).
