I can hear the movie but do not get a picture but the lamp light is blinking

If the status led is blinking yellow its indicating that the filter cover on the side is open. If its the lamp indicator thats blinking yellow its indicating the lamp door cover isnt attached properly.

Are the red and green lights blinking at the same rate or not? If the green light is blinking every 3 seconds and the red light is blinking every 1/2 second, the lamp door is not properly secured. If both lights are blinking at 1 second intervals, try replacing the lamp. If a new lamp doesn't solve the problem, the TV needs service.

Please check lamp in tv as pop sound seems broken lamp.
Did you replaced lamp in last 2-3 years in tv? If not, then its lamp that got broken and tv needs new lamp.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual and its easy, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

Biggest problem with DLP tv's is they get dirty (the usually have two or more fans...one in the back w/filter and one under the lamp). If air-flow is restricted the life of the lamp is in jeopardy. Verify air flow & clean filter(s). Replace lamp with exact P/N..not those that say they "are equivalent"...they are not. Also, be sure the lamp lens is very clean.

Your color wheel needs to be changed. Mine just did the same thing. I changed mine, and the buzzing sound went away, however now my picture washes out with light or yellow colors. The darks look green and purple also.

Sorry to say it but this acts like another bad lamp.

Have you replaced its Lamp?
Symptoms shows TV needs new lamp.
Please always buy original Sony lamp for replacement.

Most likely for this symptom is the lamp. If you'd like you could sit behind the set and have someone turn it on, you should hear the color wheel spin up and then you should hear the ballast try to fire the lamp, it makes a small arcing sound. If the lamp doesn't light the process starts over again.

Might be a bad ballast, has the picture been dark?
