Hi: I have a Panasonic KX-T7420 phone. When one of the incoming lines is ringing and I pick up the handset, it picks up the intercom and not the incoming line. Is there a way to get the thing to answer the line that's ringing and not the intercom??? Thanks so much

There are 2 things that would prevent you from being able to answer a ringing phone by picking up the handset. Your phone has to be ringing, and you need to set preferred line ringing on incoming calls.

The second part is easy. Press PROGRAM 99 and dial 22 STORE on your phone. Now when a call rings on your phone you can pick it up. If you can't, then your phone is not ringing.

Ringing is set in system programming.

How can i do two way on panasonic 5.8ghz

These directions are for the KX-TG5451, KX-TG5452 and KX-TG5453.

If you want to use the intercom feature, you need to know the handset number for the unit you want to contact. The base is zero. The handset number is set when you register the handsets. So to communicate with the base, press Intercom on the handset followed 0. The base will ring until someone presses Call to answer it (or one minute whichever comes first). (Alternatively, you can use the up/down arrows to select H1, H2, H3 or Base. Then press the right arrow key.)

To communicate between two handsets, press Intercom and then 2 (from handset 1 or 3 to connect with handset 2). Again the handset will ring for one minute or until the person with handset 2 answers. (To answer, they can press the phone, speaker or intercom button.)

If someone at the base wants to use the intercom, they need to press Select until the appropriate handset number is displayed. Then press Call.

To transfer a call, press Intercom and then select the desired handset. When the intercom message is picked up, indicate that a call is being transferred and press Off at the handset or base that initially answered the call.

For a conference call, initiate the call then press Intercom and select the handset to join the conversation. Once that person picks up, then press Conf. (I believe that Conf is a softkey so check the display.) This is only possible with the handset. (Another handset can join the conference by pressing the phone or speaker button on that unit.)

The manual for the KXTG5453 is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG5451S.PDF .

If you have a different model of the Panasonic 5.8 GHz phone, please add a comment with the model number and I'll try to give the directions for that unit.

I hope this helps.

ON PHONE KX-T7420 NEED TO CHANGE HANDSET RINGTONE . WE HAVE FOUR IN ONE OFFICE AND ALL SAQME RINGTONE.

The phone has 8 ring tones. From the idle phone, press PROGRAM and dial 99. Press the intercom or a CO line button TWICE and dial 2-8 on the keypad (1 is already default). When you're satisfied with the tone, press STORE. You have to do this for each line and the intercom you want to change and you need to do this at each phone. Pick up the handset and drop it back down to exit programming.

On the Panasonic KX-T7633, how can you answer a call on extension 101 that is actually ringing/incoming on extension 103?

A couple of ways, the easiest is to dial *41103 on the intercom. *40 may also work, but it picks up any ringing outside line.

We have a Panasonic KX-T7433 telephone at work but 2 of the phones do not ring when we have a call we have to go and pick up the main phone at the other end of the room. We can call out on the phones but...

From the phone, press intercom and dial 790. That clears any "cleaning person" button presses. Check the ringer control button on the left side of the phone to make sure it's on. The "we can't pick up the call" is disturbing because the line should appear on your phone. In a TD system, the lines are normally numbered 01-12, but that's on this side of the pond. If you have ISDN ot EI trunks, they may be different. In a standard key system, the line buttons are called Single CO (SCO) buttons and are programmed by prressing Program 99 on an idle phone, then the button and reading them. If they don't say SCO 01 02 03 etc, you dial 0+01 02 03 etc STORE to change them.

Pick up the handset and drop it back down when you're finished.

Panasonic KX-T7420. There are several of these phones in our office, I would like to know how to reset all extension numbers at each phone and create new ones.

Reset? How about you just program new ones over the old? I'm guessing you mean intercom DSS buttons, so you dial PROGRAM 99, press the button and dial 1+ the new extension STORE. Keep doing that to all the buttons you want to program and then pick up the handset and drop it back down again when you're done.

I have a Kx-t7420 panasonic phone system. I have three of my phones that go directly to line 2. no idea why. Can I change this? Also there is so much noise on line 2 that I cannot hear. Is this something...

Actually, you have a Panasonic TD phone system and a 7420 phone, but no matter. The feature you have is probably "idle line preference" or "preferred Line Assignment-Outgoing". In TD systems by default, you select lines from highest to lowest. If you only have 2 lines and PLA is set, you get line 2 then line 1. You can change it to get line 1 first, or chage the trunk access order. The first is something you can do from each phone, the second requires access to system programming. The bad thing about the first solution is if line 1 is busy, you won't get any line. The second will give you the entire trunk group.

Anyway, from each phone without picking up the handset, press PROGRAM 99 and dial 1301 STORE. That will give you line 1 when you pick up the handset. Just so you know or can change it, 11 is none, 12 is idle line, 13xx is specific line and 1+the intercom is intercom. Pick up the handset and drop it back down to exit programming.

As far as the noisy line, it's probably a central office issue. It's hard to test as that line is the outer pair of the jack that plugs into the phone sytsem (RJ-14 pair 2), but you can probably take a regular phone and test it at the demarc point.

No ringing sound for second incoming call

On the intercom, if it's a TA or similar phone system, dial 7311# for call waiting on outside lines and 7321# for call waiting on the intercom. (0 cancels).

Ring tones on KX-T7433

Wow, this is your lucky day :-)

From each phone, press PROGRAM 99 and the INTERCOM or CO buttons TWICE, then dial 1-8 and STORE. (default is 2). You can now make each line and intercom different, or each phone (up to 8) different. After you finish with each phone, just pick up and drop the handset back into the cradle to end programming.

The feature is called Ringing Tone Selection.

Cant retrieve incoming calls from someone elses extension

Of course you picked the feature with conditions :-)

From the intercom 40 picks up any incoming call. 4* picks up trunk calls, and 41 plus ext number picks up a specific ringing phone.

The condition is that an extension can block call pickup by dialing 7201.. 7200 clears it.
