try it on another computer if that dosent work you should reformat your computer but first backup all your data by putting your another internal hardrive on your computer and move all your files you need to the empty hardrive and after that take the hardrive with all your stuff in it off the computer and then reformat the hardrive which the external hardrive does not work on and install a new operating system then put the other hardrive with all your stuff back on your computer and transfer your stuff into the hardrive with a operating system then try the external hardrive
OR you can burn all your stuff into a CD or a DVD OR you can put all your stuff into FlashDrives and then after you reformat the hardrive with an operating system put your stuff back into the computer and after that the external hardrive should work
Hi, You can transfer the data files only from the old laptop to the new one. You cannot transfer the installed applications/software. Software are required to installed again on the new laptop afresh. To transfer the data you can use external portable hard disk, which can be connected to the PC using any USB port (just like pen drive) and you can copy - paste the required data to the external disk just like you copy data from one partition to another. After copying the required data, you can connect the external drive to new laptop and copy the data to the new laptop. You can use external drive of any brand/ capacity. However, it is better to have an external drive with larger capacity, so that you can transfer the data in one go.
Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya! CreativeTECH
Sometimes the drivers aren't automatically updated or loaded when you install new hard drives. What I suggest is you download the sound drivers again for you Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 laptop. Click here for the link to download site. All you have to do is enter your Operating System ( e.g. Windows 7, Vista, XP ) and you will click on the sound driver and download it.
Hope this helps and thank you for choosing FixYa.com
Hi:
Some older laptops don't always recognize the full size hard drives bigger than 134 Gb, but they usually show up in your bios. There isn't an easy way to install it wrong, so if the drive wasn't new to you, it might have a problem...New Hard drives come with installation CD's, but that won't do you any good until the drive is recognized
The smallest hard drive that can be purchased is approx. 100Gb. You need a Windows installation CD, and provided you have the product installation code (it should be on a Windows label on the bottom of the laptop) installation is fairly straight forward.
You may be able to get a Windows CD from a computer shop, they may install Windows for you at a cost.
You need to download the device drivers for the laptop from the Gateway WEB site.
Hi there. Just make sure the boot order is set to the CD/DVD, you can do this by going into the bios or pressing F12 while the computer starts up. please post back if you need any more assistance.
Dear you are fishing a problem with sound whit-out change any type of hardware just parches USB TO SOUND CARD OK just install in use port and after install driver and working ................ok
save money and time ok...........both of important
If the sound has worked on this machine after the new hard drive was installed, then all you need to do is a system restore from the start menu, acessories/system tools. You may need to go back a couple of restore point in order to get it back, but this should do the trick. If it hasn't worked since the new hard drive was installed, then ou will need to go to the manufacturer's support site and download the drivers.
plz give your laptop make and model
