I recently charged my Sony ericsson w9601 and it went off then when i put it back on it showed it was still charging even though the charger was disconnected. i put it off and removed the battery. when i put the battery back the phone came on instantly without pressing the power button, but hangs midway and shows the battery charging symbol. i pressed the power button and it resumed powering up. everything else seems to work fine except the battery meter showing 0% charge and the phone still showing the charging symbol while no charger is connected.

Hello, Tammy, according to your explanation it looks like your device started problem after one week of charging error, if charging pin is same of your device and your brother there is no problem charging with it, for the charging error it must be happened when you didn't connect charger properly. try your device with another battery if possible, for the switching on and off it sounds me software issue, try to connect your device to pc suite and update firmware your problem will be solved. for further help post comments.
Dear, first of all try cleaning the pins of your charger and mobile charging socket with petrol or kerosine oil. then see if it works, if still the problem persist, then their may be the fault in your charger or mobile charging socket. Or electric socket where you put your charger for charging! try charging your mobile by putting your charger in different switch board, if still it wont work, then try charging your mobile with different charger, if your mobile is getting charge, then get sure that problem is in your charger, its time to buy a new charger. original charges cost=900 duplicate charges cost=100
As if your using sony ericsson K800i some mobile phones as this problem as myself also faced the same problem sony ericsson mobile shows this error if you charge your mobile using connector or unsupported charges.You visit your nearest service center of sony ericsson and ask then to give branded sony ercsson charger for your mobile.After taking that charger you will not face this problem any more..your mobile is just perfect as new.Your connector or charger is having some problem with it. Charger may cost you around 300 rs.

sony ericsson phones have their own two-prong charger/data plug. You will need to purchase another AC charger, or you can purchase a plug that has a female USB and use that. Good luck!
Very simple.Just follow this steps: 1. Connect the charger. 2. While the charger connected, open the back cover and close the cover again. Your phone can be switched on now. This is because this phone got sensor that ensure the back cover always closed while the phone operate. 3. If the above steps not working, try remove the battery while the phone is connected with charger.

As per Sony, if you are getting this message, it's a concern.
This message usually appears, if you are using a Battery other than Sony's.Make sure you are using Original Sony's charger. Try to use some other Charger and Battery.
If problem persists, you need to send the unit for repair. More likely, it's a firmware issue. I have hardly seen any Charge / Battery issue.
