you need to purchase a multimeter, it will tell you which way round it is and what the voltage is.

Poser cords can be purchased locally from anu electronic spare part selling shops, or from the authorised service center for Philips at your town.

The power cords for the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 slim have different shaped plugs. If the plug you are using is not fitting it is likely that you have purchased the incorrect cord. If this is the case you will need to purchase a new cord.
When you purchase your new power cord make sure that it is designed for the original Xbox 360 NOT the Xbox 360 slim.

if the power cord is broken, you need to buy a new one... bring the broken cord to the store if you want to purchase a new.. so that they will give you the right power cord for your laptop...

Their information is absolutely not correct. You can purchase replacement power cords for any product.

I had a similr problem It turned out that the power supply cord was not the problem, it was the main battery. Luckily, in 2000, I bought 2 extra main batteries. I took out the old battery and put in one the 2 new unused ones and my machine is working and charging perfectly now.

I lost my power cord for my Electric skillet and called Wal-Mart number on the back of the skillet and they said it would be able to be exchanged for a new skillet with a cord if purchased within 2 years even without a receipt or a box :-)
