Do you want to unlock the touch pad on the laptop?
There is usually a HotKey to do this and typically it's consists of pressing the FN key on the keyboard and one of the F1-F12 buttons that shows a picture of a touch pad on it.
Hi Charlotte, i hope i understood properly, but it appears that you have a possible issue with the keyboard & or the touchpad. As this is a new unit then the only advice to give is to contact Acer tech support (unit is under warranty) who should be able to guide you through the issue.
Some laptops will have a button with a touchpad icon on it press this to lock and unlock the touchpad. Other laptops may also have a (Fn + one of the F# keys to toggle the lock)
If you can't find it please comment back with the make/model number
ur keyboard mouse is locked look where the f1,f2,f3,keys are and find the mouse lock key when u locate it then pressand hold ur FN KEY (usually on bottom left on key board ) and the mouse key to unlock
to unlock the computer.
1) press CTRL + ALT + Delete buttons altogether
2) you will get the screen to choose login id and then type in the password.
3) you should be able to login.
if nothing helps please restart the computer but make sure restarting the computer may cause you to loose any unsaved data.

Sounds like the taskbar is unlocked. Put your curser on the taskbar and hold dowwn the left click button and pull the curser in an arcing motion to the bottom of the screen. The taskbar should return there.
Once back at the bottom of the screen right click on taskbat and click on Lock the Taskbar in the pop up menu.
