I don't know what else is on the circuit with your Dishwasher, but it is possible that you have a defective circuit breaker, or corroded wiring at the circuit breaker or at the dishwasher. Maybe too many gadgets on he same circuit and you are tripping the breaker. The dishwasher may have an internal circuit breaker that needs replacing. some thing to think about.
It's unlikely. An internal fuse would blow first, I'm assuming. If you've diagnosed this far you sound capable of continuing. Electricity is dangerous!!! I would remove all things from the board, 1 by 1 plug each component into board until the breaker trips. That should pinpoint what is tripping breaker. I would assume a motor.
disconnect dishwasher and put wire nuts on lines try to turn on breaker if goes on than u have a short in the wiring of the dishwasher -open panel and check connections if look good than start testing lined and components with an ohm meter for short ----if breaker doesnt go on check wire feed for short
Many dishwashers, due to their power consumption, are on their own house circuit. It may have blown the house fuse or circuit breaker. Ours does it about once every 6 months or so. I just reset the circuit breaker. I'm sure an electrician would tell me to replace the dishwasher or have it serviced to determine why it periodically blows the circuit, so if it has blown the circuit breaker, you should determine why before running it again (unlike me!).
The power surge might have damaged the wiring to the refrigerator. You can check this one with a megar. That is only if the circuit breaker blows off, ONLY when the unit is turned on.
Else, the problem may be that current is flowing through the neutral. You can check it with a tester and if so, report it to the electricity board.
Else, as a temporary measure, you can connect your unit, bypassing the circuit breaker. But in that case the circuit breaker will never blow off regarding any complaints to the unit and may result in a slight power wastage.
Try to turn off everything else that is on the same circuit then turn on the dishwasher. If the breaker still trips then the circuit breaker might be malfunctioning or the dishwasher might be defective (in which case the circuit breaker is doing exactly what it is designed to do.) I would bet that it's the dishwasher thats causing the problem. Check with the manufacturer to see if there are any recalls on that model.
The dishwasher is generally on a separate circuit so if that circuit breaker kicks, or that fuse blows you won't see anything else turned off. Go to you panel and check to see.. If it is a blown fuse, replace it with a new one of the same amperage. If it is a kicked circuit breaker turn the breaker all the way off and then back on.
