Your Craftsman model 919.165200, 5hp, 20 gallon compressor was designed to run on 115~120v 15amp. I believe that it was made by Campbell Hausfeld and is of the oilless single cylinder type. If however your compressor is oil lubed and has a motor /drive belt configuration it may be able to convert if there is a spec plate on the motor with alternate wiring diagram. Many high-end compressors like Rol Air, Jenny, Dewalt, etc with motor/belt drive have a switch selectable voltage, however one must still change the power cord when using 220v. Good luck with your projects and post again if your have other question.

Is it possible to wire compressor motor from sears model 106 174541 to 220v and if so schematic if possible just for motor

If the electric motor says 120/240 then yes. It it only says 120 on the data plate then no. I have attached a good read for you. Should you change your motor from 120V to 240V

Craftsman 919165200 will bulld to only #80. keeps running

The compressor is worn out, or you have a continuous leak that's leaking air faster than the compressor can compress it.

Someone cut the plug from a 230V Craftsman Compressor and wired on a 120V plug and plugged it in. What type of damage could have occured?

You should be okay. It just ran at half speed while it was on. If had been the other way around (hooking up 120v motor to 240v socket) that would have killed the motor.

I have a kobalt 60 gallon 3.7hp air compressor, I was using a dryer plug prevousily but I know longer have access to one, the motor says 208-240v is there a way to turn this into 110 or should I just get...

Ya you'll need another motor or a new 240v line. If it were a voltage switchable motor it would say so on the tag. I have an air compressor with a switchable motor and it says 120V/240V on the tag, theres a wire to remove inside the pressure switch to change the voltage.

Wire digram for craftsman air compressor

thats not going to work for one the motor is rated at 220v you would need to replace the motor with one thats rated at 120v along with a different pump. you're better off to buy a smaller compressor then do that.

blk/red are your two 120 volt lines the white is your neutral, if this is a 120/240volt combination motor make sure you change the wiring in the motor configuration to make it 240volt from 120volt

Need to convert my 110 volt 15amp to 240 volt

You can buy a transformer which allows all 110v power tools to work from a 240v supply. You will also need to change the plug on the compressor to a yellow 110v type. You can buy transformers for around £25 and around £3 for the plug

Converting from 220 to 110 volts

Most brands of air comperssors are built to work on either 220 or 110 v. I believe that 220 v compressors are more efficient and draw less current and run cooler.
The more expensive compressors have a switch allowing for voltage selection. Still others will have a wiring diagram printed on the motor allowing voltage change by changing jumpers. Most all of the sears compressors that I have repaired were of single voltage with no other way to change except change motor. Do not worry however, you have the better motor. It is easier to convert the outlet plug to 220 by isolating the circuit and installing a 220 v breaker. enjoy
