Per owners manual... WATER PUMP OIL IMPORTANT: If oil is white or foaming, water is in the oil reservoir. Change oil.NOTE: Water in oil occurs as a result of spray or condensation. Milky oil is not indicative of a pump malfunction.
Hey the GX390 engine oil capacity is just a little over 1 quart of oil you have to place the engine on a flat surface to verify that the oil is at the correct level, if your engine has a big dipstick it has to be filled to the lip where you pour in the oil or if it has a small and long dipstick check for 2 dots and fill to the upper dot.
have you checked the engine oil. most models have an oil motion pick up. they are fitted to most lawn mowers as well when the oil gets week it does not lift and engine will just cut out. replace oil with 20/50 oil.
General Pump and Annovi Reverberi make them... among others I guess. Usually in shaft sizes 1" or 1 1/8" shafts x 2 15/16" if that matches your type. Bolt patterns are universal. a google search should give you several options.
low oil sensor will not cause the motor not starting.
most likely is th ground wire. you can try to attach that wire to any surface and try to start it. of it start, then you have to dis-assemble the head and find out where the wire should be attached.
if not, the wire is attached to a hot side. either way you have to dis-assemble the head. http://www.honda-engines.com/engines_owners_manuals/ownersmanuals/gx390.htm
here is the site for the manual.
I believe its the the oil sensor. The engines are equipped with a low oil sensor and when you go around turns, accelerate, decelerate, the oil will flow from side to side and throw the sensor off, causing the engine to shut off. Remember, this is because the engine is from a pressure washer and pressure washers arent meant to be driven LOL.
