With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card.

I have pictures on the camera and i want to get them onto a card but it wont give me that option on the camera, how do i fix this?

This function is not available on most cameras.

If what you want to accomplish is to get your pictures from internal memory into your computer, there is a way. Simply remove the memory card from your camera before connecting the camera to your computer with a USB cable. The computer will then see the camera's internal memory instead of the card memory, and you can copy the pictures over.

Recently purchased Sony Cybershot DSCW180. Took 3

Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only.
Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu.
Thanks.

Internal memory is full,I have erased all

Take out memory card from camera, format internal memory to delete all pictures at once or delete them one by one.
Once memory card is inserted in camera, internal memory is no longer available to store/ delete pictures so remove memory card from camera to get access to internal memory.

I uploaded my pictures from my memory card onto the computer. When I put the card back into my camera, the camera won't read the memory card and it says the internal memory is full (12 pictures). How do...

If you indeed have the pictures on your computer (and are safely stored)... you might try selecting the format memory card function in the camera, to reformat the card, in case it was somehow corrupted while connected to the computer.

"Read only card, change to internal memory to capture"

This error message indicates that the memory card in the camera is write-protected. To take a picture, turn off the camera and insert a new card, or change the storage location to internal memory.

Why does the camera Ready light glow steady red?

The cause and solution may include one of the following: The camera internal memory or card is full. Transfer pictures to the computer, delete pictures from the camera, switch storage locations, or insert a memory card with available memory. The camera processing memory is full. Wait, and resume picture taking when the light turns green. The card is read-only. Change the storage location to internal memory or use a different card.
