If its the fuse in the fuse link then you should be using the a 50A fuse thats if on your amp there is fuses that total 60A when you add it up and if it still blows then you might have a short in the power wire between the battery and the 50A fuse

I have a jl audio 500 1 slash series the amp would cut on and off every now and then and when it is off i check to make sure power is getting to it and it is getting the full 12volts what could be the...

I had this same issue when I moved the Amp from one car to another.

I did not use the required 4 AWG wire for the Power connection. In my original car I had.

Replaced it and with the correct AWG and it the problem went away.

So check the Gauge wire your using. I tried to be cheap and it was a pain.

Whats the difference between jl audio 500.1 amp & jl audio 500/1v2? why is the price range so different?

500/1 is JL upper line, and the 500.1 is their lower line. They also have another line altogether that is under a different brand name.

Have a JL audio slash 500 that isnt putting out any audio... i know the sub is fine. but i noticed the RCA inputs are loose and dont hold the cables very tight.. is this my problem and what can i do to...

Yes it possible that the inputs have been damaged on the circuit board of the amp. If the amp has hi level inputs you could try running a speaker wire input to it and see if it works. You might try another pair of rca cables to.

I am wondering what amp i would need for 2 JL Audio W3v3 - 2ohms. I am looking for something around 200. SHould I go with the Mono block and how many watts?

well you can go a couple different directions. you can wire them parallel or in series. parallel will get you down to about 1.3 ohms at the amp and series will get you close to 4 ohms. you need an amplifier thats stable at either of those impedances. the lower the resistance (impedance) the more power your going to get to the subs. I manage an electronics store and specialize in mobile audio/video. we are a 'Signature JL Audio Dealer' so i like to say i know the product line very well. JL makes an amplifier that is stable from 1.5 to 4 ohms and will put out the same amount of power at any impedance in that range which is really nice. Its called their 'Slash Series' you are looking for a JL Audio 500/1 amplifier. Grab an 8 gauge amp kit (4 gauge would over do it) and wire 'em up. Enjoy!

Fuse keeps blowing

The amplifier probably has shorted output transistors. If the amp only blows the fuse after remote voltage is applied, the damage may be minor. They generally blow two transistors. Sometimes that's all that needs to be replaced.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

There are no fuses inside the amp.

Are any of the lights lighting up on the amp?

If so, which ones?

Blowing fuses

You will need to have the amp bench tested at full load to see if there is a pending problem. It will need to see with speaker loading resistors, how much current the amp is drawing and at different frequencies. if the amp checks out with the proper current, at the rated output, have the speaker checked out. Good Luck
