You didn't mention mkII or mkIII...just the 424, right? I just bought one and found the manual online, here: http://www.dx266.com/pub/Tascam_424_Manual.pdf Also, I am looking for an adaptor too, PS-P424. Online here, $55: http://www.audio-depot.com/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=41&sort=20a&filter_id=41&alpha_filter_id=0. If you look for a replacement (not Tascam) be aware that it has to be 12v 1100 mA output, with a NEGATIVE center polarity...not easy to find. Good Luck.

If you buy the dvd,i find it alot better than a manual

For the adapter, you can use a 12V DC adapter who as the negative at the center of the plug, I have try it for mine and it is working perfectly. The current of my adapter is 1A and it doesn't overheat. I use a Toshiba AT7020A
