Sharp R-930 Fan motor sounds like it is slowing down after the unit runs a minute or two. This happens both on convection and microwave. Turntable is OK and the unit is heating OK. Is the fan dirty or does it need lubrication ? Is there a way to clean the fan ? Thanks for your help !

When you close the oven door the latches operate a couple of interlock switches that control power. It may be that one of the door switches is bad or out of adjustment. It's also possible that one of the door latches is broken so it's not hitting the switch. There should be two door latches. Are they both there? This oven could be fixed by adjusting or replacing the interlock parts as needed. Because of concerns about microwave leakage from an improper door seal, you should have this oven serviced by a professional.

My microwave oven siows down and then speeds up.

Is it still heating food properly? You can perform a basic test with a microwave safe mug or plastic cup of water. It should be boiling or too hot to touch within 1 to 2 minutes. Be careful not to overheat the cup if plastic and use extreme caution when touching or removing it from the microwave.

If it is not heating properly then the magnetron may be faulty and unit should be replaced.

Can you tell what specifically is speeding and slowing? Is it the turntable or the humming sound of the unit itself? Many microwaves vary their intensity in order to heat/cook evenly and that will vary the pitch of the sound you hear and sound like it is speeding up or slowing down. If the turntable is slowing and speeding up then there may be a bad motor and the unit should probably be replaced.

If the unit is heating adequately and the turntable speed is uniform then what you may be hearing is simple power cycling and/or fan noise.

Only trained and certified technicians should attempt repair of microwaves due to the hazards of high voltage and microwave radiation leakage if parts are not replaced properly. Although you can have a microwave repaired the cost may be equal to, or higher than, the cost of an equivalent new unit for a 900w microwave.

I have a Sharp 930 Convection Microwave that is no longer rotating. Any help?

This problerm is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that is no longer working. If the model number you posted this question under is correct, the part number for a replacement turntable motor is 46-841666-3. You may also consider replacing the turntable coupler (also called the turntable shaft). The part number is NCPL-A021WRFO. If your existing coupler is still in good shape, there is no need to replace it.

Replacement parts can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com. There is a complete list of helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with parts identification/location.

If you need instructions on how to replace a turntable motor, the following link explains:

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Not Heating. Fan, turntable, light working.

I would definitely suspect the door locking mechanism in this case. If it was the sensor it would start and then stop within a short time.

The starter switch should click if you have the door open and time it for 01.seconds and press start. So that is the secon component to think of.

Clicking sound sporadically

That particular skillet is just too heavy a load for the turntable system to handle.

I would suggest a lighter skillet or a different container, otherwise, the motor or shaft or both will be damaged.

It is of course perfectly okay to put metal in a microwave (after all, that's what they're made of!) but you just have to do it only according to the instructions in the owner's manual.

And as you know, metal in convection mode poses no problem at all.

You just need to use a lighter or different container.

Dacor dcm24s.light, fan, and control panel work but turntable and heat do not

Most likely the bottom door switch. Dacor units are built by Sharp and that switch is a very common problem. You'd either need to check the switch with an ohm meter or remove the cover of the switch to see if it's burned inside.
