hi there i have had that problem once, and i'v solved it.
for the heating of the battery and no lights, no display, no signal its all for the flex(ribbon) problem all i did was remove again the flex and clean the contacts sometimes it shorts i just re-solder the contacts of the flex. because some of parts that we bought is not 100% ok. just try it again maybe you'll make it.

you changes the batteries and reprogaraming the mobile in this whole mean while did you use the same charger if yes so you porably charge your mobile with the another one because you said the battery became hot is only becase of the voltage may be the charger capcitor lose their power to store the voltage so you just check the another charger.

this have nothing to do with your phone battery and the phone charger

from your statement what you need to do to fix up the problem is that you have to make a change of your phone charging port this is well the problem is from
the charging port bad

dole it will give a sign that it charging but the same time it will discharge the power and this can cause a damage on the battery bass on constant charging

what you need to do is that you are to make a change or replace the port with a better one

if you can not do the fix up your self then you will have to take it to a very good phone work shop around you to do the fixing then your phone will work fine again
