First check that your memory ( RAM) are firmly seated.Press on the memory sticks to make sure they have good contact.
Also The issue could be related with the operating system, as for instance in some cases the OS causes computer turns on, and turns off again. what I can suggest is that you re install the operating system again, or reboot computer to the factory defaults from the rescue CDs that you made. If the problem still exists , then there must be some hardware issue. In which I recommend you contact Dell support.

you first need the USB drivers in the PC working prefectly or the camera will be dead
then the DELL drivers for this this exact PC loaded, and only DELL has those, not fixya, nor MS< nor others.
only DELL.com has them.

hello, try these steps to fix the problem.

• Insert your Windows 7 DVD into your optical drive(DVD drive) and restart the system.
• Boot using this DVD by pressing any key when windows asks "Press any key to continue..".
• Select your language in the first screen and click "Next".
• In this Window, select the option named "Repair your computer".
• This tool will search for the installation directory for a minute.Once it finished, click "Next" once again.
• Under Recovery Tool, choose the option named "Startup repair". Now,Windows will try to repair your startup problem and gives a message to restart your system.
• Restart your system to finish the process.

once it is done restart the system and the system will be fine.

Any USB webcam is okay to install as long as it comes with a webcam driver that is compatible with windows7.

your laptop is too modern to use old operating systems, you should use windows 7, don't be a dinasaur like those people who keep being stuck on xp. time to let go and move on, 7 is the best OS in the world for me

You have had Win 7 for TWO YEARS? Hmmmm well anyway thats the problem. You see Win 7 and games don't MIX, the only way may help is to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, and Run & Install as Administrator.
