Signal problem I have an N1 vision belkin router..how can i increase signal...to reach other room?...tnx and hope ur response soon

Is the Belkin plugged into a power strip or UPS? Try another AC outlet. Has the AC jack,plug in the rear or the Belkin been damaged due to pulling on the AC cord, causing a lose connection? Is your computer shut down at night? No Hibernate, No Sleep? Are their setting for the Belkin to shut down/timeout after a certain idle time? Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi . Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Check the routers gateway IP address is in the same subnet as the other computers or laptop.
Ie 192.168.1.X . (X is between 1 and 254)
In addition, the sub net mask is 255.255.255.0

If all is ok then it is probably a miss configuration with WPA /WEP options

Here is the manual in PDF. Hold the reset button for 20 seconds and wait for it to come back up. Then punch in the default login credentials from Belkin (the handbook will tell you how)

My N1 Vision does the same thing, If you turn off the guest account, you should find its ok. Only when this Guest account is on, thats when it disconnects. Hope this helps. John

I have 2 x Belkin N1 vision dsl (cable) routers. One is connected fine with Virgin 20 meg broadband. Is it possible to use the other N1 vision router as a range extender up stairs to get better signal , without using any cat5 cabling ? I.e router-to-router

It can't be used as a bridge but you can use it as an Access Point. All you need to do is disable the DHCP server of the router and don't use the Internet/WAN port

It might be an idea to upgrade the firmware which can be downloaded from manufacturers' website

make sure u are looking for the right connection when the box opens for the connections on the left hand side u will c a small box click it u will get wireless /dialup/vpn just make sure you look for the right one also go onto ur computer into windows media into library options into sharing and search have your xbox on it will appear click on it to allow it to share with your pc i would appreciate it if you could rate this solution
