If you go to start menu and run, type in msconfig.

Go to the startup tab and uncheck the items you don't want loading up - roxwatch9.exe is one (whether or not there's a separate entry for media manager I can't recall).

Reboot, tell the nag screen please go away and don't bother me again.

I can open itunes and an error keeps poping up" roxio media manager" unable to find certificate file HELP

Hi there,

Here are some steps you can take to resolve your problem.

1. Download, install and run "Ccleaner"; a handy little temp file and registry cleaner/organizer. On many occassions, after running it, goofy messages disappear having been a result of faulty registry entries or deletions built up over time.

http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/

2. Open Roxio and go to help> updates, and download and install any updates that are available.

3. Open iTunes and go to help. updates and do the same.

4. If you still see the message at this point, go to the control panel> programs, and uninstall Roxio. After restarting your computer, the message should be gone for sure. If you have the install disc for Roxio that came with your Dell, simply re-install it. If not, use Media Player to do your burning with, or any other of a vast number of free DVD/CD burners that can be easily downloaded and installed.

Internal error 2718 roxio media manager pops up upon startup. I have deleted everything in the registry relating to it. i have used reg cure, system mechanic. I cant open system restore, user accounts or...

Make sure you are logged in to an account with administrator privileges.

Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig", click OK. In System Configuration, click the Startup tab. Uncheck anything relating to Roxio Media Manager. Click OK and reboot.

Be very careful when dealing with the registry. Most registry cleaners do more harm than good if not used carefully. The "Delete everything I find" attitude often leads to a slower computer than when you started.

Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
and remove ROXIO.

Then, access http://www.MajorGeeks.com
and download "AShampoo V6 Burning Free Edition" and install it.
Great software, and Version 9 (which is not "free") is even better.

Every time i turn on windows the roxio media manager keeps loading and does not turn off. how do i get ride of it

Once the system is booted up click the start button on the taskbar, click run, type msconfig in the box and enter. That gets you into the startup files where you can remove Roxio from the startup. That does not delete Roxio from the system, it just stops it from opening at startup. If Roxio starts upon start after that, then there is some application starting that requires Roxio, and you will need to address that issue. That rogue application should also be visible in the startup list so you can remove it thereby fixing the issue. Be sure to save the settings.
