Hi,

The "F1" error code on the Whirlpool cabrio is quite common, and generally has to do with the control board. Replacing the control panel may resolve this issue. However, I believe Whirlpool is aware of the F1 issue with the Cabrio, and is fixing some machines for free. Please call 1-800-253-1301 for more details and see if you are eligible for a free repair.

Thank you !!

What foes Error code f1 mean?

Error Code Definition
  • According to Appliance Parts Quick, the error code is defined as a "Primary Control Failure." This means that the small computer installed in the washer has failed to send, receive or communicate with any other part of the washer.
Reset the Code
  • To stop the flashing and beeps on the washer, hold down the "Start" and " Stop" buttons for 60 seconds. If this does not work, unplug the washer for 30 seconds and plug it back it or leave it unplugged since it is inoperable.
Parts
  • The main problem is with the machine control assembly. This whole part needs to be replaced. Depending on your model, prices range from $150 to $260, as of 2011.
Process
  • The installation of the new machine control assembly, requires manual installation and opening the washer itself. If you have never taken apart or repaired a washer, a professional should provide the service and care. Contact Whirlpool support for more information on repairs and warranty.

F1 means the central electrical control unit, i.e. the onboard computer, has fatally failed. Unless you have both the skill and tools to test the guts of this computer, you're stuck replacing it. Good news, three screws at the rear to expose the control panel, then unplug one unit; plug in the new one. Just to be on the safe side, color code all the plugs and receptacles. At wholesale, the part is $175.00. CODE 083009 part W10189966 CNTRL-ELEC

What does it mean for screen to flash f1

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

From my understanding your Frigidaire range is displaying an "F1" error code. "F1" typically means that your wall oven has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). Sometimes resetting your appliance can correct this issue but in the case that it does not and you still receive that error code I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose and repair. At that time you could be having an issue within RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor probe or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) having a professional come out would reduce the cost of unnecessary parts. Hopefully this has been helpful. -Matt

F13 code

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your question is under an "F13" error code but you also stated that it is showing you an "F1" error. I have researched both error codes for you. "F13" usually indicates error identification, which could be an issue within your control board. "F1" typically can indicate that the range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). Both codes could be corrected with a reset, which you can do by flipping the household circuit breaker for roughly ten minutes. If that does not correct the issue I would recommend contacting a professional. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Code f1

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for allowing me to assist you!

If you are getting an error code F1, it usually means that your Frigidaire range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). One of the best ways to determine if this is a false error code is to reset the power to the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping off the breaker for about ten minutes. If the error code persists, at this moment I would suggest connecting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC (Electronic Oven Control) or RTD Probe (Resistance Temperature Detector) will need replacing. I hope this information helps to some degree.

What's the best diagnostic machine to check faults

A professional scan tool, you can not afford or
or professional software,for a computer

You will only be able to afford a code reader & they
only read generic codes, not ALL info, as you suggested.

If you have no factory service manuals, you won't know
how your vehicles systems work

Then without the powertrain/emissions diagnostic manuals,
and possibly wiring diagrams, you won't have the reference
material necessary, to learn where to start any testing, once
you get codes

Sharp ar-163 model Error code F1

You can hold down the start key when the F1 is displayed it will show a sub code. The service manual for that model shows only one F1 code which is an F1-06. That is a shifter motor trouble. That is the section after the exit that offsets the copies.

You can reset the code with the instructions below. If the error recurrs then chech the exit section shidter for proper movement. You may require an on site technician to remedy this issue.

To reset the error code:
Hit <clear> <interrupt> <0> <interrupt>
