Try to download to a folder on your PC to try to isolate the problem a little bit. If that works out ok, then see if you can go from your PC to the external drive. Since it downloaded different amounts two different times, it's probably a software issue. Sometimes, however, software can get bogged down for awhile, and noone has been able to really say why, but it's probably a hangup with resources and software. When you try to download again, let it run for at least an hour. Try to load a few movies on your external to check it, and if the hard drive's good, you will know to look at the software issues.
Hi,
If you listen to my suggestion I will recommend you to copy the files from the hdd camcorder to the external hard drive instead of using any backup software because if you use the backup software then in future when you format your PC for any problem you will face difficulties in getting back those files from the ext. hdd .
I'm using the PowerCinema software which came with my camcorder, not a different software
OK But I think you will see the files in "MY Computer" or "Computer" when you connect the camera to the PC the camera will appear as a new drive in that and you can copy your movie files from that drive to the ext. hdd.
I agree, the Power Cinema comes up, I select the external directory folder I want the files copied to, it begins the copy process and then just stops. I'm trying to understand/fix why it stops copying the files from my HDD to the hard drive.
Do you have any other suggestions?
