Sediment clogging the unit

I was just given a used Keurig B40, and the previous owner said that it no longer worked. I descaled it and no water went from the reservoir to the unit and nothing came out (obviously). I tried over and over and finally water pored out with a lot of sediment. After a few cups like this it clogged again. When I run it, the unit knocks and whirs and a few drips go into the cup. Is there any way to release the water from inside the unit or to clean out the mineral residue? If not, do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?

We live in an area with rather mineralized water. and have had regular issues with this. the best solution we ever had to this sort of problem was to simply descale with a vinegar mix until it ran clean and then go with very regular descaling 9 in our case 2 a week, unitl the dog chewed through the cable). I had my B40 for almost 3 years. Good luck!

I would suggest you contact the company directly for advice on where to get that part or possibly they will be able to supply it to you directly.

you will need to give it a vinegar flush..white vinegar..I put about 1/2 cup with a full tank of water..keep running the water until empty..then run thru a full load of clean water..then taste some of the hot water..to see if the taste is gone....

Unfortunately you will need to use vinegar. The acetic acid in vinegar is strong enough to clean most brewing machines.

Use distilled white vinegar.

Have you tried following the descaling procedure given in your owner's manual? The mineral build-up from hard water can cause low flow, and since the machine pumps for a fixed time this means less water in the cup. Descaling usually brings back normal operation.

Water puoring back into tank

I contacted Keurig about this same problem. They said it was because I must have a sediment clog. I descaled it several times, as outlined in the manual, but it still didn't work. Even though I was a few months out of warranty, they still replaced it for me. Try the descaling. It may work for you.
