First check if the Vista Service Pack 1 or 2 is
installed in the Computer and what is the version of the BIOS installed
in the Computer.To check the information about the Service Pack installed in the Computer:
Click on Start, type
WINVER in the Search area and then press the Enter key.
Or
Please goto Start Menu, select 'All programs', select 'Accessories' to access 'Run' option and enter '
WINVER' and check whether Windows Vista SP1 or 2 is installed in the Computer.
To check the version of the BIOS installed in the Computer:
Click on Start, type
MSINFO32 in the Search area and then press the Enter key.
In the System Information window check the BIOS version.
If the installed BIOS version is not
R0231Q0 or higher then install the BIOS update in the Computer from this

is a known issue with a VGN-CR series Computer when Audio may not work
properly after installing Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1).
Installing the BIOS update should resolve the issue.
