Color convergance on the front there is a button to do this automatically, this does help. I've got staggerd colors, how do I manuly adjust the convergence using the remote? Had satellite TV service off for about a month. When we started using the TV again, noticed a lime green hue over the entire screen. Especially noticable in pictures that should show blue (sky) or white, appear with a green hue.

The green hue (I had it too) is a result of the optical block failing.
Sony has extended their warranty (regardless of the purchase date). see link

What is the procedure to do color convergence on a hitachi 50vs69a

Almost all you can either get into the mode by use of the remote or remove front speaker grill and inspection plate behind it, there is a tiny blue push switch which will put you in the convergence adjustment mode, then various buttons on the remote do different things and save the adjustments.

Of course if convergence will not adjust you have a bad chip and this model uses two so both get replaced in that case.

How do i adjust the magic focus?

  • Press "Menu" on the remote select the "Magic Focus" option in the Video menu or press the "Magic Focus" button on the front panel to adjust the convergence of the three picture tubes that create the proper color for the picture. Pressing the button on the TV initiates the automatic adjustment, and accessing the feature through the Video menu allows you to choose automatic or manual adjustment, though the "Automatic" setting must be selected for the button on the front of the TV to begin the process.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem ) Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem Screen looks 3D Colors don't line up One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed or warped. Here is a quick test.... Using your original remote go-to the TV settings then go to the convergence section. Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence. You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right. If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem. Solution #1 you need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for most models. If you don't see kits for your set send them a quick note under the contact us button please, you will get an answer within 24 hours or so.(excluding holidays Good Luck

My color is washed out and dim and the colors are wrong . Toshiba 65h83 projection hd tv

I don't know your model, therefore I will tell you genericaly what the problem may be.

There are many things that can cause this type of fault. The response of the video amplifier stages would have to be checked right up through to the output that drives the projection. it is also possible that there is a fault with the colour demodulator. If the set uses projection tubes it is possible that the tubes are weak, or there is dirt in the optics. Colour demodulation problems can also cause the colours to not be correct. Many models using tubes have an optical transparent cooling fluid in front of the tubes. This fluid may have to be changed.

You need to take the Toshiba remote that came with the machine and go into a menu area that deals with convergence. Here's what the manual says:

This TV used 3 separate TV tubes, red, green, and blue. The R, G, and B images are pojected onto the screen wheree they converge to form a full-color picture. You can see a clear picture only when the three images converge correctly. Corvergence my drift over time, or if yo move the TV. I you can see clear images on your TV screen skip this procedure.

Make this adjustment only after the TV as been on for at least 30 minutes.

Press the TOUCH FOCUS (auto convergence) button on the front of the TV at the bottom.
The TV will enter into the convergence mode and adjust the converge automatically (that's what it says.)

    TO ADJUST IT MANUALLY:

Press MENU, and the press < or > until the PICTURE menu appears.
Then press UP or DOWN to highlight CONVERGENCE.
Press < or > to display the Center Convergence menu

There's a lot more the book says, but, I can say from experience that you just go through the different sub areas of this menu and converge each color separately, and bingo, it's fixed.

    Good luck.

    1993 Hitachi Projection Screen TV

    Hi Dennis!

Your HItachi has an automatic color convergence (color beam alignment) feature called "Magic Focus" which can be accessed from the set-up menu. When selected, you will be prompted to push the front panel "Magic Focus" button... do so only one time and do not hold the button in more than three seconds to enter this mode. The process takes about 90 seconds to complete, but a second push of the button will stop the process with no change.

If the convergence is still bad after the auto-correction process, then the guns are misaligned beyond its corrective capabilities, and would require manual convergence.

A service manual detailing how to do this is available for a nominal charge at http://www.how2files.com/bykey.php/hitachi.

If you don't have one, a free download of the user's manual is available at https://merchant.satisfusion.com/sf/WarrantyCenter/registration/secure/Hitachi/Manuals/ModelNumberManualLinks.jsp?masterModelOID=SF-990486114-595&random=1213688278588.

Hope this is helpful, let us know if you have any other questions, and good luck!

    Adjusting the convergance

On my 55 inch rear projection Samsung, there is a menu option to adjust the convergence. There is a manual as well as an automatic option. It is easier to do with the remote control. My Samsung remote has a button called 'perfect convergence' or something like that. you can also get to it from the menu tree pushing the menu button on the front of the set. You need to scroll through all the options to adjust color, contrast, parental control, etc. You should find it.

I assume the same is true on the 37inch samsung.

How old is the set? A number of samusng sets have problems with two large IC's that tend to burn out. This causes the symptom of colored shaddows, tend to be worse the further away from the center of the screen. I just finished doing the repair to my set. If you cannot adjust the convergence, that is most likely your problem.

    Good luck!

    Adjust color convergence automaticly

I hate to tell you but if the colors are not aligning the way they used to is because the set has developed a problem know as a convergence problem, you should be able to align the colors (red,Blue)but if they are not going in is because the covergence IC's are going bad,If you are familiar with electronic service you can do some of the work yourself but sometimes still does require the help of a servicer to do the aligments from the inside,if you are not too familiar be safe and call for assistance.
