Is there a diagram for my kelvinator chest freezer? i need to repair a wire that fell off during our recent move

If the wire is green it's a ground wire and can be attached to any metal screw that is near that area

We bought a new upright freezer today, and had to lay it down in order to get it home. It was lying down for about 20 minutes. How long does it have to be upright before we can plug it in?

About the same amount of time that it was laying down
But the trick is to not shake the compressor and that when you
lay it down the freon lines coming out of the refrigerator should be on top or pointing up
The front should be scotched up 6 inches or so too, to help.
Good Luck

Iterior light flashes on/off in fridge when door is opened, every so often it starts a series of buzzies with the exterior indicator light flashing on and off ,most importantly in the freezer part things...

Get out your manual for the book. If indicator lights and buzzers are going off, there may be an error or failure that is being picked up by a diagnostic.

Sometimes, the amount of flashes and buzzes will help to narrow down where the problem may lie.

Just had a new upright Frigidaire freezer delivered two days ago. Plugged it in immediately. It did not get cold after several hours. Turned it off then back on. Unplugged it. Unplugged it for several...

Whenever you get a frig or freezer delivered it is best to wait at least 24hrs (some say 8 hrs) before you plug in. It maybe unknown to you if this was shipped to you in the laying down postion. If it was and you plugged in it will not work because laying down the oil migrated away from the compressor.

Other than that the freezer could have (possible chance but still possible) problems that are out of your control. If you brought it at a retail store you have at least 2 weeks to exchange. Do that a.s.a.p.
Dont bother trying to figure out just exchange!!!

We have bought a new american style fridge/freezer and it was delivered yesterday. We have left it on for 24 hours and the temperature is not going down the fridge wont go below 12 degrees and the freezer...

ambient temp 10/35 degrees C.not in direct sunlight,
did you use a level to make sure that it is level in all planes, just to make sure all the door seals are tight,
(look along the seals to make sure)the unit should be left on for at least 24 hours in its chosen position with the doors shut, then check temp,it could take another 12 hours to settle down once loaded. Also make sure that its not touching the wall cuts down on vibration.
once checked,if still not right call samsung..they are good.

By tipping over the freezer can you damage anything. Can the bottom of the freezer get wet

let it stand up a few hours so the oil can run back down.... don't let water stand long on bottom.

I bought a used Kenmore upright freezer, it's been on for over 24 hrs, and it freezeswell, BUT won't turn off. Runs alllll the time. Any suggestions??

Did you transport it STANDING or LYING down?
If Standing 4 possibilities:
1. The thermostat is hosed (replace)I had one like this and just put it on a $6.00 24hr time to turn on for 1hr every 5 hrs. (New Thermostat was $40.00)

2. The heat exchange fins on the back are dirty(clean with broom and air/vacuum cleaner)

3. The Door seals arent sealing and cold air is falling out the bottom, pulling hot air in the top (rehang door or replace seal) Note: a piece of paper 2" by 8" should be hard to pull out all the way around when closed. Like a cash register reciept. Cleaning with armor-All and then thinly coating with Vaseline may help
4. The Freon is shot and needs a recharge. (Costs $40-100.00)

If transported Lying down, there is now air in the lines and it needs to stand OFF for 24hrs. You may have hosed the pump with the air/freon mix, but let it stand so the air can surface and retry

Freezer motor works fine, but doesn't freeze.

  1. you probably have oil in your line.you're not suppose to plug the freezer right a way when it have been loaded on is side.you suppose to wait about 24 hours.

Changing Freezers

If your products are already in the frozen state the answer is yes, you can make an immediate transfer. Normally a couple of hours run to allow the temperatures to stabilize is sufficient. The cool down run time also insures the the unit is functioning properly. If you plug it in and transfer the products right away make frequent checks to insure proper operation.
