If u have problem your pc doesnt recognize your samsung YP-U3 MP3 player this is the solution-
REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes yes yes yes!!!!!!!! I solved the problem after i was really crazy of anger with samsung company, but i found this solution in one forum.Thank you
very much, anonymous Guest!!!!!
Hi All,
I just solved the problem after many attempts! It works for me, and i hope it works for you too~First install Windows media player 10! When I plug in my YP-U3 player, the computer says it needs to search for a driver, then i let it search it online. But it normally
won't search the driver on the internet. Then, it will give a prompt to ask if you want to find a solution or search the driver from
the PC. Choose the second option, searching from the PC. Then change the directory to C: (Which is the most crucial part).
After a while, the driver should be found and a warning message will appear. Forget about the warning, choose install the
hardware anyway, player should be recognized by then. (I have had windows media player 11(10 also works), direct X 9...etc. before installing the driver)
When you install the software supplied by Samsung it states that you must have at least Windows Media Player 9. They got that wrong. The YP-U3 player for some reason is classed as a Windows Portable Device and not as a Mass Storage Device. The Windows Portable Devices driver was not included until Media Player 10.
Just install Media player 10 and that's you done. Even if you then uninstall Media player 10 the drivers will remain. It installs about 7 dll files all beginning with wpd into the windows\system32 folder. If you dont have these the player wont function.
The Samsung website was as much use as a chocolate teapot. It was only that i found the player would work on some pc's and not others (and the constant nagging from my daughter) that i did some research.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
When the YP-K3 2 gb device is plugged into the USB Port, the system
says "Found New Hardware, Samsung YP-K3" which then switches to "MTP
Device" and then fails on an MTP error. It seems to be searching for a
driver, and cannot find one. H E L P!!!!!
Downloaded Microsoft Media Player version 11 and installed.
I recall somebody mentioning this somewhere. Now when I go to device manager and select update driver the YP-U3 device driver is found automatically.
Also downloaded other software from Samsung website. http://www.samsungplay.com/YP-U3/support.jsp?SMSESSION=NO
