Question about Coleman Mach III Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Air conditioner blows the breaker when starting up

Rooftop RV air conditioner blows the breaker when starting up. The fan turns what appears adequately but it seems that the compressor is creating the overload. The breaker does not trip right away, it takes about 20-30 seconds. Looks like a Coleman model 7333A8669, serial looks like 109410100, it's hard to read the label. The unit is about 15 years old.

Rv airconditioner trips breaker

Does it trip when fan only , or when compressor for cool cuts in? Sounds like capacitor perhaps . Get back to me with model number, and whether it's a ducted system, or blows out at ceiling assembly.

Air conditioner runs for several minutes then

Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it, could be a compressor froze up or a fan froze up. If you disconnect the compressor and turn it on and it trips the breaker the fan is probably
bad. If you disconnect the Fan and turn it on and it trips the breaker
it is you compressor.

Rooftop RV air conditioner fan doesn't blow when turned on

Check the breaker that supplies power to it, if it is tripped, remove indoor cover or outdoor cover and make sure blower/condensor motor can turn by hand.

If it does, then it is more likely that the compressor
has shorted out.

I have a Carrier RV Air V air conditioner. I turn

Have fan start capacitor checked/replaced by licensed tech, or electrician as they are very dangerous to work with if not experienced and can give a very high voltage shock, that could be fatal. They basically store and increase voltage to higher range for start up of fan and compressor.

2 year old Coleman Mach III tapping and not blowing cold air:

Make sure the condensor fan is blowing through the condensor on the roof. It sounds like the compressor is fighting high head pressures after running a bit.. After so many attepts, or if it suceeds in operating the load trips the circuit breaker.. Make sure the condensor is clean and air is passes through it from the fan. Just for clarifiication the condensor is the coil that gets hot and the evaporator is the coil yat create the cold air. Good Luck, and if you will, let me know how it turns out. Good Luck. Ned

A/C TRIPPED BREAKER

Try the FAN ONLY position and start it.
Could be a stuck fan motor or a bad capacitor..
Remove the cover. Have someone turn it on. Once they turn it on spin the fan by hand. If it starts and runs replace the capacitor.

Compressor starts and doesn't stop

Relay for the compressor may be stuck ( Contacts welded) both the fan and the compressor should operate at the same time. Have the relay(s) checked and possibly replaced.
