Base system missing

Is this in Device Manager? Did you notice this after the Win 7 upgrade? If so , it's a common problen when upgrading, Is that the only issue? Your Card Reader work? Modem? Co-processor? I have a HP Pavilion DV9320us I loaded Win 7 64bit Ultimate on with similar issues, modem, co-processor, card reader, etc. Use the Win Vista drivers, modify the drivers for Win 7. HP drivers found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=ca&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001&lc=en&product=3548477& AND change compatibility of drivers , This will give you the general idea: http://www.techsupportforum.com/4478-installing-a-device-driver-under-compatibility-mode-in-windows-7/

Within Win7 Pro and Ultimate there is a in XP Mode. That would mean you can use your old driver howver, before that I would check on the manufacturers web site for your Base System for Win7 drivers. You may well find thet Vista drivers work OK.
Hope that helps.

Drivers for motherboard COLUMBIA5??????????????????????????????????????

Missing from your question, what operating system do you use, what drivers do you require, what device are you trying to operate.

Since you didn't give any of that information, I will direct you to the Windows Hardware and Software compatibility web site. The site listed here is for Windows 7. However, there are also similar Windows sites for previous versions of Windows. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Go to the site, find your hardware and you will get all the information you need to find the drivers for your device. If the device is not listed, it is not supported by the OS and will not work.

I am having installing my dynex wireles g usb adapter because it says the install driver is not compatible with windows 7 64 bit. Is there a way to install the driver?

I'd suggest installing the device drivers in the Compatibility Wizard. Remove that hardware device in Device Manager, right-click on the driver executable/installer file and select the Compatibility tab; click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows Vista in the list-down box; then try installing the device driver. In addition, you can use the Windows XP driver for testing.

If the problem still persists, please understand that Windows 7 is a new operating system (only the beta version) and whole driverstore has been reprogrammed; some old driver is not compatible with new OS. I suggest that you should wait for another period of time till the retail version is released and push the vendor company to upgrade their device driver. Thanks for your time and understanding!

Good Luck!

1.your software may not be compatible with the Windows 7 and will have to be run in the compatibility mode for Windows Vista.
Check the compatibility mode for the Vista to install your "craft studio"cd it may not be compatible with Vista and can only run in XP mode or Windows 98.

here is the instruction from Microsoft to use the compatibility mode in Windows Vista:

My sound don't work with Window 7. My computer model is Dell Dimension 4500. Would you like to give me any idea of how to be compatible with Window 7?

Uninstall the sound drivers for your computer using the device manger. Reboot. Windows should reinstall the proper drivers. Make sure your OS is up to date via the Microsoft Update site.

If you search Microsoft Compatability List, you will get to the complete list of hardware and software compatability.
