I have a YTH2448 Tractor. For the past few month's it has been overheating before I can complete mowing my 1 1/4 acre lot. The engine is clean, I just rebuilt the carb, but cannot find out why it is overheating. The only other thing I did was to change the Deck belt, which was very tight when I put it on over 6 months ago. Any ideas??
Although blockages in the shroud and cooling fins are the most common cause of overheating, a small gas engine can also overheat if the fuel-air mix is too lean. Are you sure the carb overhaul kit had the right parts, and is there any possible of adjusting the mixture? Here is a set of parts diagrams for your tractor - Engine-2 has the carburetor-related parts. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestiuons and the documents. The overheating actually started before I rebuilt ther carburator. The local dealer's service team had no ideas, so to eliminate the carburator, I rebuilt it. I had the oil changed by the service company as well, to make sure I was using the right weight, that was no help either. Could valve adjustments cause overheating? That's the only other thing I could think of.
