I have a YTH2448 Tractor that overheats

I have a YTH2448 Tractor. For the past few month's it has been overheating before I can complete mowing my 1 1/4 acre lot. The engine is clean, I just rebuilt the carb, but cannot find out why it is overheating. The only other thing I did was to change the Deck belt, which was very tight when I put it on over 6 months ago. Any ideas??

Thanks for the suggestiuons and the documents. The overheating actually started before I rebuilt ther carburator. The local dealer's service team had no ideas, so to eliminate the carburator, I rebuilt it. I had the oil changed by the service company as well, to make sure I was using the right weight, that was no help either. Could valve adjustments cause overheating? That's the only other thing I could think of.

Although blockages in the shroud and cooling fins are the most common cause of overheating, a small gas engine can also overheat if the fuel-air mix is too lean. Are you sure the carb overhaul kit had the right parts, and is there any possible of adjusting the mixture? Here is a set of parts diagrams for your tractor - Engine-2 has the carburetor-related parts. Good luck!

Mahindra tractor is over heating when i mow. Raditor has been checked at a shop and is working properly. Replaced thermastat and still having overheating problems. What could be causing it to overheat?

Try replacing the radiator cap with a lighter/lower pressure one. Too much pressure from the higher temp cap is causing it to get TOO hot and making it lose coolant. Causing it to overheat. Be sure the radiator catch can is good and connected to the fitting under the edge of cap with a hose/tube. The catch can will capture the coolant that comes out when to operating temp and coolant will go right back to the radiator when engine is off and cooling down. That's the way it works.

Husqvarna YTH2448 wont stay running

clean or replace the carburetor. sometimes they are cheap enough that it is worth replacing over trying to clean it. if it starts and runs for a few seconds then it is a carb issue. if it takes time before it dies then it is something else

I am betting you will not believe this, but, your battery is bad. I just had the same problem last month. Same, same. I have always had good luck with jumper cables, but there was something wrong with the mower battery. When I removed it and replaced with new one, everything is as new.

Mower deck not running

You model requires a clutch switch not a relay switch. take it back and bring them your manual on the tractor and help them find out what you need.

Overheating/Loss of power

Unless water pump bearing is loose or noisy or the pump is leaking, that's not your problem. Have the system flushed. Thermostat is also likely not the problem but with repeated overheats or near-overheats it will become unreliable so change it as a precaution.
