The camera doesn't charge the battery completely.

I have a Kodak Easy Share V603. The camera doesn't charge the battery completely. I bought a new battery and when I charge either battery with the camera the charge does not last more than an hour or so. Thanks for any help.

Use Knowledge of Digital Camera Battery

A new digital camera rechargeable battery, the battery power generally is very low or no power consumption, and should be charged before use. Fully charged battery will be very hot, should be loaded into the camera after cooled.
When using a digital camera you should save battery consumption as much as possible. First, avoid using unnecessary zoom operation, if it is in zoom, it is recommended to move the camera position to get the same zoom effect. Second is to avoid frequent use of flash, flash is power, best not to use unless absolutely necessary. What is best to use the viewfinder when adjusting image, but do not use the LCD screen. LCD display amazing energy, so the best not use, because the ordinary shooting through the viewfinder can be completed. Of course, no need to block it in order to save power, such as when shooting at close range LCD display is an indispensable component. Finally, remember that when not using a digital camera, turn it off.
When using the digital camera battery for some time, the battery need the necessary clean. Many people may focus only on digital camera lens and body clean, but never thought the battery should be cleaned. To avoid power loss problems, be sure to keep the internal battery cover and battery contact points at both ends clean. If necessary, use a soft, clean cloth and gently wipe dry.Must not use or chemical cleaning of a cleaning agent such as a solubility.
In the process of digital camera battery, pay attention to using the correct method to charge digital camera battery. Best to use the original digital camera battery charger, which will help extend battery life. The charging time depends on the charger and battery, the use of voltage stability and the other factors. If this is the first use the battery (or batteries for months not used),remember, lithium battery charging time must be more than 6 hours, Ni-MH battery must be more than 14 hours, otherwise, will be shorter battery life .
If there is residual power digital camera battery, try not to repeat the charge to ensure battery life. If you use a nickel-cadmium battery, and stop charging after a short time, and then recharge it, doing so the battery can not be filled. This is what they called "memory effect", this effect would reduce the overall battery capacity and using time. Over time, less and less stored charge, the battery will also use the faster and faster.
If you plan a long time do not use digital camera, digital camera battery must be taken out from the digital camera or battery charger, and completely discharged, and then stored in a dry, cool environment, The battery should not store with the general metal objects. For a long time stored in the digital camera or battery charger may leak and cause damage.

Kodak V603 won't come on

Don't trash it yet! :)

Does it turn on with AC? If so, there could be a problem with the battery terminal.. or the battery itself (even though it is new, it may be bad).

Even if the camera is broken, Kodak has some inexpensive repair options as well as trade in options. Before trashing, give them a call to discuss..

Does it do this when hooked up to the charger? It might be the battery.
