Great job on trying to reset the printer's wireless network adapter. Somehow, the printer's memory is stuck to thinking to connect to a wireless network when it's not communicating at all. Unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the rectangular black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging back the power adapter in the printer. That should refresh itself. If wifi light won't turn on orange after the printer's on ready, reset the wireless network adapter again. Thanks.

I have the same problem, unplugig doesn't change anything. What shall I do?
    Thanks Wiktor

I did a repair on the wireless network. Go to Settings, Network Connections, Local area connection, Support tab, and then press the REPAIR button. The printer always prints but the scanner looses communication and won't scan.

How to stop orange wi fi light from blinking

The blinking WiFi light on your printer could indicate that it's trying to communicate with your wireless network or it's not connected to your wireless network anymore. A quick fix to this problem can be achieved by rebooting your system. Simply unplug and re-plug your printer and your wireless router into the power outlet and reboot your computer. Once everything turns back on, check the status of the WiFi light and try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.
You can also do the following steps to reset the printer wireless network adapter:1. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button.2. Select Network Setup.3. Select Reset Network Adapter.4. Hit the OK button.
The WiFi light will momentarily turn off and then on solid orange. You can then try to reconfigure the printer to connect to wireless network using the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility application on your computer. Go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 4600 Series folder > Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen.
However, if you wish to have it connected directly to your computer. Simply connect the printer with the USB cable that came with it in the package.

My wi fi orange light is blinking on my lexmark x4650 printer

The blinking WiFi light on your printer indicates either your printer is trying to communicate with your wireless network or your printer is not connected at all. For a quick fix, try to disconnect your printer from the power outlet. Power cycle your router and reboot your computer. Then, power on your router first, then your printer and lastly your computer. Check the WiFi light on your printer. If it goes to a solid green, that means you are connected back in your network. If not, you may reset your printer's wireless network adapter to its default settings. From the printer operator panel, press the Setup button > Network Setup > Reset Network Adapter to Default. The WiFi light on your printer will momentarily turn off then back on solid orange. Then try to run the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility on your computer to reconfigure your printer to connect to your wireless network.
I hope this helps.

My printer is connected to another wireless network which is not the same as my laptop how do i connect it to the right one?

I`ll guess You`ll have to connect your PC to the printer with the use of a usb cable.
Then run the Lexmark software (Lexmark printer home) or similar (don`t know what you are using?)... Go to "settings"; and choose wireless setup utility. You`ll have to manually set the SSID (the wanted wireless network) and the WIFI password for this network. Hope this will help.

After the power went out and came back up the wireless printer is orange and i reinstalled all the drivers on all the laptops, but it wont communicate with the printer lexmark x4650

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Frequently, issues are caused simply by a break in the signal sent from PC to printer or vice versa. Unplugging and re-plugging the printer allows the small amount of on-board memory on the printer to be cleared, with the result that the PC recognizes the machine properly. Programs continuing to run in the background of the operating system (OS) can cause the signal to be lost. Rebooting the PC ends all programs that may be running and makes a 'clean' start, allowing the signal to be detected.
If connection is still not established, try to print the network settings page to determine if your printer is still registered in your wireless network. 1. Press Setup (pattlnk_632008_2048-x4650stup.jpg) on the printer operator panel. 2. Press the right or left arrow button until Network Setup is displayed, and then press(pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg). 3. Press pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg at Print Setup Page. 4. Press pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg when prompted to Load Paper. 5. Press pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg. The network settings page will now print.
Check the SSID and the IP address on the settings page. If info shows that your printer is no longer registered, you may need to reset the wireless network settings of the printer.
Follow steps 1 & 2 above, 3. Press the right or left arrow button until Reset Network Adapter Defaults is displayed, and then press pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg. 4. Press the right or left arrow button to display Yes, and then press pattlnk_632008_2052-x4650ok.jpg. 5. Observe the message"Clearing Wireless Settings". The WiFi light will momentarily turn off then lights up solid orange. You can now launch Wireless Configuration Utility or Wireless Setup Assistant (Macintosh) to reconfigure your printer to connect to your network.

I am attempting to scan a document with my X4650 without success. The copy function works with no problems. I have used the scan function to my computer on numerous previous occassions without problems.

How is your printer connected to your computer, wireless or hardwired with a USB cable? If wireless, check the status of the WiFi light on the printer (green = connected to a network, orange = not connected to a network). Try to turn off/on your printer. Doing this usually fixes minor communication issues. This article in the Lexmark website might also help resolve your scan problem: No Communications Error When Trying to Print or Scan.
