There is a safety thermo switch that is located on the top rear by the controls, it may be going bad, as if the coils get to hot it is suppose to shut the dryer down.

Dryer is getting hot

Hi chesneynorri...

Check and clean if necessary your vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off and see if the dryer is not running hot anymore.
Make sure your lint screen is in place and has no tears or holes in it and is still firmly attached to the frame.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system.
It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.
Please take time to rate me.

The dryer does get hot but takes a very long time to dry a normal load of clothes. What I noticed is that the top right hand corner of the dryer gets scalding hot during the cycle. It worked fine before I...

It sound like you have a venting problem. The air from the dryer is probably restricted by either a clogged exhaust hose or duct work in house or a stuck vent flap where air blows to the outside. If your vent goes straight up to the roof, something may be blocking the exit or the whole line may be clogged. Also check for a kinked flex hose that attaches to the dryer. If blockage is in wall of house, there are vent cleaning companies that can clean out the line.

Dryer blows limit fuses, have replaced before.

The vast majority of dryers that blow high limit fuses have the same problem: Lack of airflow. If anywhere in the venting system for your dryer is restricted your dryer will heat up too hot. The excessive lint in the filter, a clogged dryer vent hose, the vent within the house, even within the dryer itself all are places where a restriction could occur. Check all of these for being restricted. Also make sure if you have a flexible hose between the dryer itself and your dryer vent on your home, make sure it is not crushed when the dryer is in place. This will cause your limiting fuse to blow very quickly.

When you remove the hose from the back of the dryer you can check that the dryer itself has decent airflow by starting the dryer on the fluff/no heat setting. This will give you an idea whether it is restricted inside the dryer or not. If you even have a hint that it is not putting out the air it should, have it cleaned (or if you are mechanically inclined do it yourself just make sure the dryer is unplugged).

Then have the dryer vent system cleaned. Replace your high limit fuse and you should be back in business.

DRYER TAKES LONGER TO DRY

you could have restricted airflow from the lint screen not being cleaned, a bad blower wheel, or a bad thermostat. take the vent hose off the back and check to see if the air flows out the dryer with good force, if so your vent is probably clogged or not open in the wall. the vent hose may also be picned off from puching the dryer back to far.

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

The vent may be stopped up, or the vent hose crimped so the air cannot escape, you can check the air flow at the vent on the outside of the house while the dryer is running.
try cleaning the vent and the lint screen with a vacuum cleaner, you may need to replace the vent hose, this should solve the problem
