You must check your main board television, check the Horizontal output block , check Transistor horizontal output, test it with multi tester , check whether the transistor device is burned or not. and don't forget check output voltage ( B+) 115 Volt, it should exist. If exist and transistor is normal, you can check to electroli capacitor 110uf/160 Volt, wheather is good or not.

It is for sure that your set has encountered a fault in the power section in the main board. There could be either a failure or a break in the circuit. So first of all open and check the main power board for any signs of dry soldering joints. Use a good soldering iron and a good light to probe. Solder all possible areas specially ones closer to the power resistors and drives. next check the +B voltage, trace it or disconnect from the ddrive to confirm the failure. You must use a good multimeter to check from the power section which is working and is cutting off due to a failed feedback. If not familiar do not attempt but take help. I hope you can decide and try. Good day

Television will not stay on. Runs for 5 seconds then goes into standby mode.

Modern Flat Panel Televisions these days are really just computers inside. The Switch Mode power supply has the ability to sense faults & over current draw. So... there really isn't much the average person can do to fix an electronic problem.
The usual problem is overheating, bad connector problems & electrolytic capacitors leaking or popping. If you don't have the skills to open & look for problems then you will have to take it to a tv electronics guy.

WHEN SWITCHING ON MY PANA CRT TV IT MAKES A SOUND LIKE A SQUEEK 7 OR A TIMES AND GOES BACK TO STANDBY

There is short circuited component/s at its horizontal scan output stage circuit. Check the horizontal output transistor first. Check it for collector to emitter, or collector to base, leak. Replace it with the same numebr, and check. If it do not help you, check and replace the Line Output Transformer [LOT]. Panasonic TX-P42X10B wont turn on - goes into standby

Hard to troubleshoot with just this info, the red light can be helpful if its 10 blinks repeating over and over replace the power supply first then the A board. Voltages check on the power supply would narrow down the culprit.
Post again if you measure the power supply voltages
