There is usually a 125V, 20 AMP line fuse inside the microwave, mounted at the point where the power cord enters the back of the unit. Unfortunately, you will need to uninstall the oven (if this is an over the range model), UNPLUG it and remove the exterior case to access. The case comes off in various ways depending on manufacture and model. If the model number you listed this question under is correct, the line fuse is connected in line with the power cord inside the unit and is listed as part of item 4 in the parts listing (part number STD384200).

If the line fuse is blown, you can usually purchase a box of fuses at a hardware store for just a little more than what the manufacturer charges for a single fuse. 125V, 20AMP Ceramic Slow Blow fuses are recommended.

If you have any questions, or need additional assistance troubleshooting, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

NOTE: Make sure you take any resistance readings with the microwave UNPLUGGED and the component under test isolated (removed) from the circuit. These ovens can blow a fuse by simply sitting idle. This can occur from any power fluctuations, brown outs, voltage spikes, etc. Or, it could be the symptom of a component that may have failed. If you find the internal fuse blown and replace it, only to have it blow again, you have a more significant problem than a simple blown fuse.

I have a High Pointe model EM925Bss-s and although the turntable does not work the oven still works. Is this dangerous?

no as long as you never put any metal or foil inside but food won't heat evenly , the turntable can usually be fixed by cleaning out center bearing with Q tip and a shot of oven cleaner this sometimes gets lots of food and grease build up from heavy use machines (usually mass food prep areas) and slows and stops the drive of turntable

As plugged in microwave starts up doesn't stop even if you press clear and it also sparks where can i go to exchange it or have it replaced?

Sounds like someone tried heating something up with metal attached or possibly left a utensil, Chinese food with the metal handles or foil in the unit - throw it out and but a new unit - it's not worth it parts plus labor and it will never work right again the power scale will be off

Not heating

Hello

Power Supply

Check whether there is a proper power supply. Look to see whether the cord is connected to a grounded 3-prong outlet and the cord is fully plugged in. If the electrical system is built-in and no power cord is visible, replace or reset the household fuse or circuit breaker.

Microwave Functions

Some basic microwave operational steps may affect whether the microwave is heating. Open and close the microwave door, as the unit will not function with the door open, and push "Stop/Clear" to cancel any previous settings, such as the timer, which do not heat the microwave oven.

Setting the Microwave

Once the power to the microwave has been reset, or verified as working, and the microwave is ready to run, select a new cook cycle and press "Start" to see if the microwave begins to run and cook food as expected. Allow the food to cook for the alloted time and then open the microwave door and check to see if the food has cooked or heated. Choose a longer cooking time and restart the microwave if food is heating but is cooking slowly.

Repair

If all efforts to troubleshoot the function and power to the microwave still do not get the appliance heating food as expected, there may be a repair issue that needs to be addressed. Contact professional technician for advice.

The microwave just stopped working after heating some food. When left plugged in, the light stays on, the table turns, it sounds like it is running, but does not heat anything. The touch controls do not...

The problem is the magnetron. This is the part of the microwave that heats the food. partselect, com likely has your part with a diagram and great prices.

I hv a 24ltr Sharp Carasoul Microwave. Few days back, its plate stopped working, but its heating the food fine. Why has the plate stopped rotating? Will the food be evenly heated even though the plate...

> Why has the plate stopped rotating?

The turntable system typically consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

Here is a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You order Sharp parts Encompass here or call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Microwave has works but doesn't heat

Sounds like the Magnetron has stopped working. The Magnetron is is a specially designed powerful magnet that generates the high frequency microwave energy used to heat food.
