Sure: Solution #1. Stop dropping it.;) Solution #2. Send it in for service. Be prepared...it will be expensive.

Press cursor-right (marked with a lightning bolt) to bring up the flash menu, then select the lightning-bolt-in-a-circle-with-a-slash-through-it icon.

Does the lens cover move when you do this? If it doesn't, it sounds like that might be the problem.

It sounds like your flash unit is broken. If you can DIY, try to open the camera, check the fuse and the inductor on the flash unit. Here is a tip for your reference:

HOw to off Flash on Canon powershot SD750

turn the camera to "P"...not on auto. then push the control button with the lightning bolt... the screen should show a circle with a cross out on it on top of the lightning bolt ...that will set the flash to off... won't work in auto mode..
let me know how you do...

SD750 turns on, battery good, but can't take pic with flash. The camera turns on, the battery is powered up, but when I press down on the button to take a picture, the camera won't work

There is a cold solder on the flash unit. If you want to DIY, here is a tips for your reference

Press the flash button (right on the multiselector, marked with a lightning bolt) repeatedly to cycle through the various flash modes. To turn off the flash, select the lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it. Don't forget to turn it back on later if you want it to flash.
