On most Compaq's of the CQ42 model type, there should be a little light on the top right hand corner of the touchpad, not much bigger than a pinhead. When the touchpad is active the light is out so you shouldn't see the lamp. Quickly double tap the area on the lamp and it should light up. This is an indication that the touchpad is now not active.
To disable the touchpad, do the following steps.

I was very much surprised there were no touch pad properties in mouse setting. then i realised that drivers are missing, after driver insallation issure resolved. Drivers Here:

i was about to break my touchpad (light was not blinking:) after driver its just working for a soft touch
