Recording I am recording on a DVD+R disc on a LG RH117. I am able to play the disc back only on a LG dvd payer. The disc isnot recongnised on a computer PC or Mac dvd drive. please help [email protected]

The Manual for your LG DVD Home Ent unit says: Some DVD+/-RW, DVD+/-R or CDRW, CD-R cannot be played on this unit due to the recording quality or physical condition of the disc, or the characteristics of the recording device and authoring software" So If what you burn on your PC can be played on another stand alone DVD Player Recorder than I would say that the problem is just that, not compatible media. Codecs, Firmware Update, Recording software used and Region Code can play part in problems, just depends on how much you can eliminate yourself.

You must Finalize the Discs to Play on other machines !

Problem may be reset needed, or lens need cleaning, or dvd recoreder worn out. Reset is pull the plug from the wall for 5 minutes. Turn it back on after reset to load firmware again, may work after that.. TDK makes lens cleaner. LG uses fan so, dirt can get into dvd recorder lens. If the tray moves out wiggly, laser assembly may move wiggly too. Replace dvd recorder which is a dvd+-rw regular ide unit from computers.

Visit the LG website and download the latest software for this product. That solves the problem.

I got a DVD+R & a DVD-R recordable discs and I used my LG HDD\ DVD recorder model RH1F99MHS and i recorded on the discs , the DVD can read them but my pc & laptop can't also other DVD players can't play them

You need to put the disk back into the recorder, select the finalize function from the onscreen menu, and follow prompts. Do you have an owners manual for the unit?

The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player,using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .

2 Things 1 You need to Finalize the disc to play of a DVD player check that out with your DVD burn program. 2 Check the DVD players capability with certain discs, not all payers will run 'burned disks' sometimes even the brand of disk matters or whether it is + or- type There are may variables with the DVD firmware. Finalize first the the first step.
