Prints a test page eac time it switches on!!! how do i turn it off??

I own a HP PSC 1410 and for the past 2 weeks it has been automatically printing a test page each time i switch it on. I tried uninstalling the printer and reinstalling it but the problem still persists. Please help!!!!

    Exactly the same problem as kirandaniel's after a new cartridge is installed the printer now prints a test page every time the unit is switched on.

    How do I turn this off

    whenever i start the printer it automatically starts printing the test page

    Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but problem persists

Try scanning the test page after it prints. this usually stops the printer from reprinting a test page each time it is turned back on.

Test page prints each time it's turned on
Test pages are often printed by holding down one of the buttons on the printer. Make sure that none of the buttons are stuck. Look up in your printer manual which button is for test print and make sure it isn't stuck.

Printer prints a test page every time it is turned on.
Hi everyone

After replacing the print cartridges 2 steps need to be done:

1. Wait for the test page to be printed out and

2. Put a page over the scanner glass and press scan button on your

printer.

Turn off the printer and turn it on again to see if the problem was

solved.

Try uninstalling all of the PCS 1410 software. Got HP and download the latest software & install. Check out the Patch & update software.

HP PSC 1410 will not print, printer icon is no longer on the bottom right hand corner of screen either. When i turn off the printer and turn it back on it prints the test page only.
Dear kappa, It is the problem related "Alignment of cartridge" your printer is working properly, I am suggesting a method, with the help of this method you will never get test page until you lift out your cartridge from your printer. When next time printer print a test page, take it and put it into the scanner, remember the printing area should be the side of mirror and the printer prints on the above side of the paper should be left side of the scanner. And press scan button, you will see the green light will be blink and a voice of scanner you will hear. After 30 seconds light will stop blinking, Next time when you will turn on your printer, it will not print test page.
