My blackberry pearl flip shuts off and a red light

My blackberry pearl flip shuts off, and a red light comes on. The screen will sometimes flash white. Nothing I do can get the phone to reboot or turn on. I've tried taking the battery out, leaving it on charge, and had even replaced the phone through Alltel several times over the past year. After numerous replacements due to the same problem, Alltel gave me a new phone (an LG Tritan touch). I really do not like that phone, and miss the features and layout of the blackberry flip. If I could figure out the source of the problem, and hopefully be able to prevent further instances, I could return to my old fav.
