If your case is not setup for chassis intrusion, the motherboard has dropped a jumper.
The location is by the last PCI slot between the CD audio connector and the USB bus plug. (it is right next to the CLRTC jumpers)

Good luck

Hello download a manual here at ASUS:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5KPLAM/#download

First select your windows
Then select manual and hit global for download
Unzip the file before you can read it
You probably need a Pdf reader

Yes the bios have a setting for this READ THE MANUAL
The chassis intruder is a safety precaution
To prevent unautorized access to the mainboard
when the case is opened (a contact does this)
The wire can be removed from the mainboard
And the settings can be set off in the bios.
So the problem doesen`t shows up again.

Good luck

ASUS P5KPL-AM -> CHASSIS INTRUDED

Hi, have you got this board installed in a case, with all the connections made? Usually there's a two pin connector to a microswitch that detects if the case is open. If you can identify that on the board you can short the switch, fooling the system into thinking the case is closed, to get inot the bios etc.

Chassis intruded fatal error system halted what can i do ro resolve it

Do you have the door on your computer case off? Just put it back on or go through your BIOS and find "halt on chassis intrusion" or something of that nature.

ASUSP5KPL-AM EPU chassis intrusion fatal error system halted

Hi, here you can download a manual and drivers:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5KPL-AM SE&p=1&s=22

Please select your operating system.
Then select manual and choose global for download.
The file have to be unziped before installation

Go onto your Mobo and disconnect the connector that usually says something like CHA_DET or CHA_INT. Look in your manual for the plug. That should solve your problem. If not, check to make sure everything on your case is screwed on so that the detector's circuit is complete. A separated piece, like a loose panel might be causing the problem.

You have maybe connected one of the fans to a wrong connector.
The chassic intruder is a switch so the admin
can see the case have been opened in the BIOS.
You have nothing to use that for as a private user.( if you are that )

Hope this will help you

Chassis intruded

Can you access the bios? You should disable Chassis intrusion, I don't really see anyone needing it if it's just a home pc.

Chassis intrusion

You need to check the chassis intrusion pin setting located on the motherboard. See page 1-30 (Number 11) in your manual.
You need to add a jumper as shown.
The system should no longer halt.

Cheers!

Chassis Intruded, Fatal Error...System Halted

you need to go into the bios of your pc.....usually pressing the delete key when you see the first logo screen after booting up....look for a section that relates to errors and what the bios is supposed to do when it encounters an error.
i.e if you see a line in the bios that says "halt on all errors" disable it and when you next boot up the bios will not stall.

Pc halted

very simple shut down computer put side panel back on and restart go into bios and under the settings somewhere you will see enable chassis intrusion. Just disable that. If you put cover back on then proceeded by turning power on and you still get this error than it is time to clear CMOS and then you must go into the bios and hit setup default and then go into any timings and voltage settings for CPU Memory and such. and also disable the chassis intrusion. You can enable it at anytime. just as long it is not powered up when removing side panel. I hope this is helpful.
