Ksra25ilss13 Kitchenaid ice maker not working

I have a Kitchenaid SxS (model KSRA25ILSS13) and the ice maker has ceased working. I have been on this site (and others) reading and trouble-shooting, and here is what I have done.

1) defrosted the whole fridge over night to eliminate the possibility of an ice blockage anywhere in the water line
2) pulled the sheet with the optic codes out of the bottom of the fridge and the flashing lights seem to indicate that there is no issue there (two flashes pause, two flashes)
3) Manually filled the ice tray with water, and it seems to have frozen but it has not harvested. The ice remains in the tray.

This fridge has been nothing but problems (5 years old), and I assume my only recourse is to spend another 110 bucks and buy a whole new ice maker, but before I do that I wanted to see if you had other suggestions.

Also, I have not been able to figure out how the ice tray knows when to fill. Is there just a sensor that detects when its empty?

Any guidance is much appreciated.

SOURCE: Ice Maker troubles

THERE IS A HARVEST CONTROL (SENSES THAT THE ICE IS PRESENT AND SWITCHES MODE TO HARVEST)... THAT MAYBE THE PROBLEM BEFORE YOU CAN SAY ITS THE MOTOR MODULE. IF YOU HAVE A BAR THAT IS VISIBLE OVER THE BIN ... TRY LIFTING IT ALL THE WAY UP WHEN YOU HAVE ICE IN THE TRAY... IT SHOULD SWITCH THE MODE TO DUMP THE ICE. I NEED TO KNOW IF ANY OF THIS WORKS OR NOT BEFORE I CAN GO FURTHER. GOOD LUCK .... YOU CAN WRITE [email protected] make sure to type (Fix-Ya) in the subject bar.

SOURCE: Ice maker quit working

good sign its flashing , woth door open depress the left side flap oppiste the blinkin light. does the light then go solid red??? i fso its an indication that the electricl eye is operating ok .
theres a screw 1/4 in. along the right side underneath the icemaker itself, youll need to removeit and the cover its holding down. you can then slide the ice maker assy foward and out of machine,There will be another litle tab along loeft side uder ice maker youll need to depress to ppulll unit out. pry off the white cover from front of the ice maker assy itself and have a look at the main gear 2 in. round, is it broken off, or on its way top breaking( sometimes the tabs that hold it on to the ice maker module itself break preventing operation, if this is the case youll need to repalce the ice maker assy.

SOURCE: kitchenaid ice maker dripping and freezing down freezer shelfs

Tube sometimes freezes because of minerals in it hold one droplet at a time until buildup freezes solid. Replace tube first. Water valve allowing some droplets through can also cause this. Tube first-less expensive.

Ice maker not filling...already turned off ref let set for 3 hours to thaw still not working

Noticed you did not list your model number of
your Kitchenaid Refrigerator. I see a model number KSRD22FKST above your post
is that correct? If yes there are a couple things that may be causing this. If
the ice maker mold/tray is

full of ice and will not
cycle most times the ice maker thermostat Click Here=> KSRD22FKST while there look at item number
27 in photo. That is your ice maker's thermostat that tells the ice maker when
ready to cycle and fill with water again. The part Number is=> 627985
they also request that you order the sealant for ice maker thermostat=

The refrigerator is not cooling

If your freezer is frosting up, fresh food section is warm: bad fan motor, defrost drain stopped up and forming slab of ice between the freezerand the fresh food section. Check heaters andterminator(defrost thermostat) unplug the ice box and let it defrostcompletely. Clear objects from drain. Check timer. Note to find thelocation of your timer look up your model number online here: APPLIANCEPARTSPROS.COM.
Check under the bottom for the fan motor to be running and the cobwebs, dust, dirt, and pet hair, off the condenser coils. If the fanunderneath has quit then the ice box won't get cold. BASIC REFRIGERATION REPAIR MANUAL

The water control valve for the ice maker side is your most likely reason. If filling ice maker with tap water and allowing to freeze. If it dumps then the water control should fill. if not the valve is not working. Sea Breeze
