The wireless keypad stops working only when the garage door opener is in the "door full closed" position. I have tried it with the door disconnected from the opener, so it is not the actual door positon that is the problem.

Assuming, from what I read, the remote works..The inside switch is just a doorbell switch which will wear out or have the contacts get bent or dirty. Take off wall, and change for new one or see if the contacts can be cleaned or adjusted. If the pad is electronic (coded) the wires may be bad or the control defective. Usually momentary contact of the two wires will cause the door to actuate.

My wireless remote keypad stopped working. I changed the battery and it worked to get the garage door down but not up. The key pad is about 7 years old.

It sounds like your keypad is going bad and has a weak signal. It can operate the opener with the door open but with the door between it and the receiver it can't.

Key pad not working. Garage door will open with

I'm confused about the battery you replaced inside the garage but you can try programming the keypad just to see.

Locate the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release it and then walk over and key in your 4 digit code and press enter. If this doesn't work and you know the battery inside the keypad is good, you have a bad keypad.

Press and hold for 3 seconds the button on the wall control that has an icon of a lock. The light should quit blinking and your remotes will once again work. Holding that button for 3 seconds toggles your openers vacation mode.

The garage key pad has stopped working

The most common problem for your situation is that the battery in your wallmounted key pad needs to be replaced. unscrew the little screw on the face of the device, remove the battery and replace it with one just like it. Radio shack usually has these batteries

Key pad does not always open door

It sounds like the contacts on the keypad are going bad. A new opener with the wireless keypad is the answer.
