Hi, you just have to download a driver for the lan card here at ACER:

http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=1791

Here you also find the other drivers missing.

After you have downloaded the driveres you have to
unzip the file before installation.

The drivers are NOT exististing on the windows disk.

Hope this will help you getting on the net again.

Hi!
There are many possible reasons why you can't connect to the internet and answering these questions might help narrow down your problem.
  1. Are you trying to connect to the internet wirelessly or with a wire?
  2. If you are connecting wirelessly, are you connected to any wireless network or did you enter the encryption key correctly?
  3. If you can't detect any wireless network then check if the wireless function of your laptop is enabled or not. That can be found as a slide switch at the side of your g550.
  4. What operating system are you using? Windows Vista, XP?
I hope you will find this helpful.
Thanks!

Usually the trouble shoot should fix your problem but my case using the same model, I had to turn off the wireless switch in the front and turn it back on. Then I needed a reboot. I had a Macbook on the side and had connections to the network but no internet connection was found. I later discovered it is the modem that was causing trouble to the 2 computers. So rebooting your modem by turning it off and on again should help. It did help in my case. Good luck.

I just recently got wireless internet. It was

Hard to say what the issue is based on the information you provided.. There are actually a lot of reasons you might have lost the connection.
I'd start by verifying that you're connected to the wireless network that you set up. Did you name it? Open your network properties and see what the icon for the wireless adapter tells you:
- Are you connected? - Are you connected to the proper network? - Is your network card "disabled" for some reason? Some laptops have a disable button that overrides the card so the wireless radio can be shut off quickly and easily. Make sure it's not been tripped. Usually laptops have an LED to indicate if the wireless radio is running.. usually blue.
note1: be sure to check the "order of preferred networks" and from that screen delete all wireless networks you won't connect to somewhat regularly and/or ones you've connected to accidentally in the past. Make sure that your home network is tops in the list.
note2: if you did not create your own name for your wireless network and are still running the default name, it's definitely smart to change that. Your laptop can easily get confused with other networks in the neighborhood that have the same name.
Hope that helps.

Trying to connect internet and having problems.

Hi,
You have probably not installed the drivers required for the wireless adapter. Go to Dell website and search for your model's drivers. Look for wireless adapter drivers.
Please also check that your wireless adapter is on. Some laptops have a switch on the front side of the laptop to turn the wireless on or off. On other laptops is the combination of the Fn key and one of the F1-12 keys.
