Sony Grand Wega KDF-42WE655; 2 problems

I have had the set for two years, (1) about a year ago, a constant buzzing occurs when we turn on a particular light switch that sounds almost like electrical feed back.(2) The more recent problem is quite annoying, every few seconds a crack/crackle occurs through the speakers, doesn't matter if volume is high or low.

You have a problem with EFM interference from a light that has a dimmer switch. Turn dimmer all the way up or off, buzzing will cease

Sony grand wega kdf 60wf655 will not start up. red light blinks three times. lamp replaced a year ago.

If the POWER/STANDBY indicator flashes three times, the lamp cover may not be attached securely. Review the lamp-changing instructions in your owner's manual, and make sure that the lamp cover is securely attached.

REPLACED LAMP YEAR AGO AND GOES ON AND OFF???

Listen for the buzz sound created by the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If your hear that, its a bad lamp. And, if your TV uses an XL2200 lamp, its a safe bet that's the problem. That particular lamp is prone to intermittent ops.

Tv shutting off then comes on

your lamp is going out, they last around 2 years, on the average, this is easily replaced by you, door is on the right side of the tv, you can take the lamp out, if it has a bubble on it, it is getting ready to go out

This seems to be common problem with Sony projection tv. I have the KDF-E50A10 that lasted only 2 years. It's sitting in a corner now until I figure out what to do with it. I am not going to spend another grand to repair it!! Never Sony again.
