Hi Max

Is there any power on the unit at all ?

i.e. Does the LED's on the unit indicate that it is in stanby ?

If it isn't then it could just be a fuse that has gone on your Powersupply.

Why won't my Sony projector turn on? Projector Not Turning On

Ensure the projector is properly plugged into a working outlet. Check the temperature lights to make sure the device hasn't overheated and shut down. If you are using a remote control to turn on the projector, check the batteries. Be sure all of the projector latches are closed.

Power light comes on but when you push to start nothing happens.

I get this and similar questions often. You turn on your light. It makes noise, you can see lights - perhaps even blinking lights - and assume that it must be running.

I have a Sony VPL-ES1. After I had moved my beamer from the first to the second floor it won't power on. It's connected to the power well. I've had this problem before but I would like to know...

ensure that the projector goes through the cool down cycle, for example the fans stop running, before you unplug it. Unplugging it will cause it to into power failure mode which will not allow the lamp to turn on until the bulb reaches ambient temperature. it will also extend the life of that very expensive bulb. take the extra time to let it shut down before you unplug it.

Blue tinting appearing on the right side of screen on vpl-es1 projector

A warning in the manual was given as to be carefull when using this projector with games as some parts of the screen will not move, just like if you watch Tv on it and there is a channel logo in one corner that doesn't move! It burns the display like it would on a pc monitor if no screen saver set. This is not a problem you can fix, that is perminant damage to the lcd in the projector!! S Platt
