The florescent ceiling light in my kitchen takes a long time to turn on after flipping the switch. It is a lithonia light model# 764123

The ballast inside the fixture is rated to operate 2 25w bulbs. You can't put higher wattage bulbs in this fixture, unless you change the ballast. Sorry.

It either spins off or it is spring loaded. Just pull down.

first what are you trying to do with this?

Not grounded.
Bulb is bad.
Bulb is loose.
Ballast is bad..

did your problem start after the switch was installed?

Try unthreading the cover. Rotate to the left, or counterclockwise.

They make dimmable ballasts.
The Lutron dimming ballast shows an orange wire, not a brown >> but other manufacturers might call for different color.
I am guessing here, but ballast should work with Black Hot and White Neutral
