JD 301 industrial loader tractor Overheating

Have a JD 301 industrial loader tractor w/ shuttle. Gas powered.
Am having overheating issues. Thermostat replaced, no help.
thermostat removed, no help.
Same tractor will not climb any sort of slight grade in 7th or 8th gear. Matter of fact it won't pull itself in 8th on level roadway.

Have you tried replaceing the hydraulic and transmission filters? It sounds like the hyraulics are restricted and putting too much load on the engine. Also the water pump may be causing some of your problems, does the tractor work well when it is cool or the same cool as hot?

Hydro filter replaced, Removed thermostat and tried that, Cool or warm, air temp doesn't seem to matter???

Thanks for the info wiseguy212. The thermostat has been eliminated as the issue. Oil and coolant ok, no white smoke. I am leaning toward something amiss in the hydrolic system. Since it labors in the higher gears.
Had it ideling just a few minutes ago, Trans in 4th High / Lo range selector in "P" shuttle in N. within 10 minutes, temp was at 220. Going to try the same test, but put everything in neutral positions. If i'm not mistaken, this should eliminate any loading by the hydro system. And we shall see what happens.

You may need to do a compression test on the engine to confirm whether or not the head-gasket needs to be replaced, that's where i would start if the thermostat is not the problem and the hydraulics are not loading up.Check for oil in the radiator or anti-freeze in the oil as well as for white smoke out of the exhaust, all are indicators of a bad head-gasket.

If engine overheats and I remove thermostat does it help?

This is the primary cause of engine overheating. Possible leak points include hoses, the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater core, head gasket, freeze plugs, automatic transmission oil cooler, cylinder heads and block. Perform a pressure test.

Case 255 overheating . had radiator cleaned out. replaced water pump and thermostat.

if its the 24 hp diesel model then its not likely to be a timing issue (ck exaust stack for white smoke under load) but if you got the rare 4 cyl gas engine then yep its a timing issue, also did you replace the fan belt ?? they stretch and slip so water pump don't turn fast enough ??

Overheating after driving three miles

I would replace the thermostat. Its a cheap fix and most likely the issue. If you replace the thermostat and are still overheating then you may have a more serious issue. But going 3 miles and overheating sound like the thermostat is not opening up at operating temperature.

JD Z Trak 777 overheating

Drain the coolant, flush the system, replace the thermostat, and pour in a fresh supply of a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. If it still overheats the water pump is suspect.

Oven is overheating by 110 degrees

used the info on the website to troubleshoot the issue. Determined it was the thermostat. Replaced it. Seems to work fine. Could not have done this without the illustrations showing where to find the thermostat and oven sensor. Great help.

If the engine is overheating temperature wise that's one thing but if its blowing out the reservoir and your saying its overheating that's another thing. Please let me know which one applies.

Keeps overheating, air bubbles up radiator when started

Air is being pumped into the system.

Bad gasket is most likely the problem.
