Hi guys i tried upgrading my system from win xp home edition with a professional disc. it then gave various erros and said a system.sav file had been corrupted so it could not load the home edition again. the case is worse as the partition containing the recovery set had been affected by a virus and its not working again. infact the system is not booting to windows again. please what can i do.
Open and back all important if you could still open you hard disk drive in another media like flash disks or cards then reformat and reinstall your new OS. do not ctrl A and copy all files when your return them back rememember to scan them using powerful antivirus software before you return data to your newly reformatted HDD or else you may be copying the virus back. Have it cleaned by PC with updated Antivirus programs.

Run the windows set up CD that came with your system and use the Repair console to repair the current (Previous) version of windows. If that doe not work, are you at least able to get to Safe Mode with a Command Prompt?
