Our HP2600N color printer displays the message "replace supplies" It does not say which ones. We do not have a manual and I can't get to the section from the menu that tells you how much ink there is left in each cartridge

It's possible that the Cyan toner is low or depleted. If so, the printer will print the blue areas in black. This is a possible way to check:
1. Open your Applications folder and double click on "System Preferences." 2. When it opens, click on the printer icon with "Print & Scan" underneath it. 3. Click on the HP2600 printer on the left, then click "Options & Supplies" 4. Click on "Supply Levels." Check the Cyan toner cartridge. If it's low, then you'll have to buy and install a new one.
It's an Internal Communications Error. It is a warning message and shouldn't affect your printing.
That being said, if it persists, you should call a tech to check it out.
Try doing a hard or reset or nvram: 1. Turn the printer off 2. Hold down the select and the cancel button 3. Reboot the printer while holding the buttons and hold until permanent storage is displayed. Let go of the buttons and wait for the ready message on the display.
You only need to replace the light indicated toner cartridge but if the others are reading low be prepared to change them. You can do a supplies page printout from the printer menu, click on information and scroll down, this will tell you how much toner you have left in each cartridge
Mirror dirty laser scanner The laser mirrors get dirty due to many things, the main blame lies about hp, and who had no rubber gaskets to "optical box" as it says, and the dust that comes in, causing us to blow a printer or same internal fan of the printer is stored in the bottom of the printer to finish the last piece together the laser mirror is the magenta, and that's why when the printer form the mirror image and transfer it to go faulty because the mirror does not project well in the dust which is on the surface. Thus forming the image pale color and lack of final results. What should we do? Clean mirrors, p ut to reach them we must completely disarm the printer, which is why I will leave some links to download the manuals. 1) Service Manual Printer hp2600n (English), just for reference but also helps explains how to get to certain parts of the printer, and tell us where are all the sprig, I recommend first ojearlo I downloaded here: http://cid-4c0169bf00ee97eb.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Manual% 20of% 20servicio% 20Hp2600n? The ink cartridges included in the box are used to set up the printer. This type of ink cartridge is called a “host” cartridge. Once the printer has completed device initialization, they are marked as regular “trade” cartridges. This error only occurs if the printer has finished the device initialization process and one or more of the ink supplies inserted into the printer are a “host” supply.
Solution: The indicated ink cartridge(s) cannot be used after the device has undergone first-time setup. Once the product displays the message ' The following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced ', the designated host cartridge(s) (indicated by the color icon(s) on the display) that were rejected should be discarded or recycled and never used again. Replace the ink cartridge(s) with the appropriate “trade” ink cartridges for the HP All-in-One.
